Northcote Tigers
The Northcote Tigers are a rugby league club based in Northcote, New Zealand. The Auckland Rugby League (ARL) is the governing body for the sport of rugby league in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. Founded in 1909, the ARL has played a pivotal role in the development and promotion of rugby league in Auckland and beyond. New Zealand Warriors
The Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. Shane Horo
Shane Horo is a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand in the 1988 World Cup. His brother, Mark, was also a New Zealand international and his nephew, Justin, formerly played in the NRL. Playing career Horo originally played in the Waikato Rugby League and represented Waikato. In 1985 he was selected for the New Zealand national rugby league team but did not play a Test Match. He spent the 1984 season in the Northland Rugby League competition and represented Northland. Auckland Rugby League Team
The Auckland rugby league team is the team which traditionally represents all of the clubs which play in the Auckland Rugby League competition. As well as a senior men's team there are also Auckland representative teams throughout the various age groups such as under 15s, under 17s, under 19s and under 21s. Under the new zone scheme introduced in 2010 the Auckland team represents the North Shore, East Auckland and West Auckland, while South Auckland is represented by the Counties Manukau rugby league team. The zone team is named the Akarana Falcons. Frank Halloran (rugby League)
Frank Halloran was a rugby league footballer who played in Auckland, New Zealand. He represented Auckland rugby league team, Auckland and made the New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand team in 1937, playing two tests against Australia national rugby league team, Australia at halfback. When doing so he became the 250th player to represent New Zealand. Halloran played for the Ponsonby Ponies, Ponsonby United (Ponies) club in the Auckland Rugby League competition from 1934 to 1938. Tom Hadfield (rugby League)
Bernard Tom Hadfield (11 December 1934 – 16 May 2018) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand in the 1957 and 1960 World Cups and retired as the highest try-scorer in the New Zealand national side's history. Playing career A Northcote Tigers player, Hadfield was an Auckland representative. He was part of the Northcote club during the Auckland Rugby League's district era and so played for Northern Districts - an amalgamation of the Northcote and North Shore clubs. Hadfield first made the New Zealand national rugby league team in 1956. He went on to play 15 Tests for the Kiwis, including at the 1957 and 1960 World Cups. After the 1960 World Cup Tom played for the Rest of the World vs Great Britain. He finished his career with a then-record 15 tries for the Kiwis, five more than the previous record.
