Rockingham County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 91,096. Its county seat is Wentworth. Scott Brewer is a former North Carolina District Court judge who also served as a North Carolina House of Representatives member. Robeson County is a county in the southern part of the U.S. state of North Carolina and is its largest county by land area. Its county seat is and largest city is Lumberton. Kenneth Leigh Goodman (born September 17, 1947) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly. He represented the 66th district. Goodman resigned from the legislature in 2019 to accept an appointment from Gov. Roy Cooper to serve on the North Carolina Industrial Commission. During the 2016 legislative session, Goodman was one of 11 Democrats to vote in favor of HB2, the controversial "Bathroom Bill." Montgomery County is a rural county located in the southern Piedmont of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,751. Its county seat is Troy. Richmond County is a county located on the central southern border of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,946. Its county seat is Rockingham. History Early history The earliest inhabitants of the land eventually comprising Richmond County were Cheraw Native Americans. The first European settlers in the area were Scottish Highlanders, who traveled up the Cape Fear River valley to find farmland.
