Abe Jones (politician)
Abraham Penn Jones (born March 7, 1952) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives who has represented the 38th district (including parts of Wake County) since 2021. Jones was born in Wilson, North Carolina. He graduated from Harvard University in 1974 and went on to Harvard Law School where he earned his J.D in 1977. After returning to North Carolina, he worked for the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina and the office of the North Carolina Attorney General. Jones served on the Wake County Board of Commissioners from 1990 to 1994. Jones was an administrative law judge before his appointment to District 10 of the North Carolina Superior Court by Governor Jim Hunt in 1995. He was elected to the position in 1996 and narrowly won reelection in 2004 over future NC Supreme Court Justice Michael R. Morgan. 2020 North Carolina Lieutenant Gubernatorial Election
The 2020 North Carolina lieutenant gubernatorial election took place on November 3, 2020, to elect the Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina, concurrently with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the United States Senate and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Primary elections were held on March 3, 2020. In North Carolina, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor are elected separately. Incumbent Republican Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest was re-elected to a second term in 2016, despite Republican Governor Pat McCrory losing reelection by a narrow margin. Yvonne Lewis Holley
Yvonne Lewis Holley (born August 12, 1952) is an American politician who served as the North Carolina state representative for the 38th district from 2013 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, her district consisted of part of Wake County. She was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor of North Carolina in the 2020 North Carolina lieutenant gubernatorial election, which she narrowly lost to Mark Robinson. Early life and education Holley is the daughter of Raleigh broadcast personality J.D. Lewis of WRAL-TV. She attended William G.
