Nordic Women's University
The Nordic Women's University (NWU; no, italic=no, Stiftelsen Kvinneuniversitetet i Norden) is a Nordic research organisation, hosted by Nord University and incorporated as a foundation in Norway. It is involved in "research, teaching and information on and for women, grounded in feminist values and feminist pedagogics and with particular emphasis on Nordic and international perspectives." Established in 2011 on the initiative of former MP Berit Ås and others, the NWU is entirely funded by the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion and hosted by one of the 24 Norwegian state university colleges. Women's Work
Women's work is often assumed to be solely the realm of women, and it is associated with specific stereotypical jobs that have been associated with the feminine sex throughout history. It is most commonly used in reference to the unpaid labor that a mother or wife performs in the home and family. Women's work is generally unpaid or paid less than "men's work" and is not as highly valued as "men's work". Much of women's work is not included in official statistics on labour, making much of the work that women typically do virtually invisible.
