Cinecittà Studios (; Italian for Cinema City) is a large film studio in Rome, Italy. With an area of 400,000 square metres (99 acres), it is the largest film studio in Europe, and is considered the hub of Italian cinema. The studios were constructed during the Fascist era as part of a plan to revive the Italian film industry and to compete with Hollywood. Giovanni Grasso (11 November 1888 – 30 April 1963) was an Italian stage and film actor. He appeared in more than 80 films between 1910 and 1955. He was born and died in Catania, Sicily, Italy. Mario Mazza (7 June 1882 - 22 November 1959) was an Italian educator. Mazza was born in Genoa. In 1916 he was one of the founding members of ASCI (Italian: l'Associazione Scautistica Cattolica Italiana) which became the Scouts Association of Catholic Italians. Mazza was part of the Catholic Scouting movement until 1926, when the Italian fascist government under Benito Mussolini made such organizations illegal. Lola Braccini (born Camilla Cariddi, 28 March 1889 – 19 March 1969) was an Italian film, television and stage actress. Life and career Born in Pisa, Braccini moved to Rome at 14 years old and debuted on stage in 1912 as an extra at the Teatro Argentina, in a theatrical work directed by Cesare Dondini. Umberto Sacripante (2 October 1904 – 14 January 1975) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born Umberto Sacripanti in Rome, Sacripante debuted on stage in 1921, and in 1926 he became first actor in the theatrical company Teatro degli Indipendenti directed by Anton Giulio Bragaglia.
