Night
Night, or nighttime, is the period of darkness when the Sun is below the horizon. Sunlight illuminates one side of the Earth, leaving the other in darkness. The opposite of nighttime is daytime. Earth's rotation causes the appearance of sunrise and sunset. Moonlight, airglow, starlight, and light pollution dimly illuminate night. The duration of day, night, and twilight varies depending on the time of year and the latitude. Night on other celestial bodies is affected by their rotation and orbital periods. The planets Mercury and Venus have much longer nights than Earth. On Venus, night lasts about 58 Earth days. The Moon's rotation is tidally locked, rotating so that one of the sides of the Moon always faces Earth. Night (memoir)
''Night'' is a 1960 memoir by Elie Wiesel based on his Holocaust experiences with his father in the Nazi Germany, Nazi German Nazi concentration camps, concentration camps at Auschwitz concentration camp, Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camp, Buchenwald in 1944–1945, toward the end of the Second World War in Europe. "Night" (Ночь/Noch') is a Russian art song by composer Modest Mussorgsky. It is the composer's only full setting of a Pushkin verse, and one of only two Pushkin settings, along with the song "Magpie". The song exists in two versions, the original being written in 1864. Gazpacho (band)
Gazpacho are an art rock band from Norway. The original core of the band consisted of Jan-Henrik Ohme (vocals), Jon-Arne Vilbo (guitar), and Thomas Andersen (keyboards, programming, production). They started making music together in 1996, and the band has since expanded with Mikael Krømer (violin, co-producer), Robert R Johansen (drums), and Kristian Torp (bass). History Early years (1996–2001) Childhood friends Jon-Arne Vilbo and Thomas Andersen had played together in a band called Delerium before, which in their own words "whittled away". After several years of separation, the two friends met again and started making music together again. Andersen had met Jan-Henrik Ohme through his work as radio commercial producer and brought him into the jam sessions, which laid the foundation for Gazpacho as it exists today. ''Noch'' () is the fifth studio album by Soviet rock band Kino, released in 1986. It is the group's first official album release. The original release was via cassettes and Andrei Tropillo released the album on '' magnitizdat''. In 1988, the album was issued on vinyl by Melodiya without the group's permission, which angered the group. Viktor Tsoi criticized the release of the album, saying that they release material without the consent of the author, and also do the design as they wished. The disc was released without the knowledge of the musicians themselves; however, it sold over two million copies, making the group popular throughout the Soviet Union. The song "Anarchy" had a subtitle - "A Parody of Western Punk Bands." Later, it was changed to Mother Anarchy with no subtitling. According to the editor of the issue, N.
