Nguyễn Văn Đài
Nguyễn Văn Đài (born 1970 in Khoái Châu District in Hưng Yên Province) is a Vietnamese human rights lawyer, democracy activist and blogger. He was arrested on December 16, 2015, by the Vietnamese authorities and charged under Article 88 for "conducting propaganda against the state". The arrest was condemned by international human rights organisations and elected representatives across the world. Hồ Đức Hoà
Hồ Đức Hoà (born 1974) is a community organizer and journalist who has been arrested in Vietnam and sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2013. __NOTOC__ 2011 Arrest Hồ Đức Hoà is known for being a contributing journalist for the Vietnam Redemptorist News and for actively mobilizing access to education for children living in poverty and assistance to typhoon victims and people living with disabilities. Hoà was arrested on July 30, 2011 at Tan Son Nhat Airport along with Dang Xuan Dieu and Nguyen Van Oai upon their return to Vietnam. They were detained on unspecified charges under Article 79 which outlines activities aimed at overthrowing the government. Đặng Xuân Diệu is a Vietnamese community mobiliser, activist and prominent member of the Catholic Church, Catholic church. He was arrested in Vietnam on 30 July 2011, convicted over a two-day trial in January 2013 and sentenced to 13 years in prison. Lê Quốc Quân (born 13 September 1971) is a Vietnamese human rights lawyer, democracy activist and Catholic blogger. He was arrested by the Vietnamese government on charges of tax evasion on 27 December 2012, convicted on 2 October 2013, and sentenced to 30 months in prison. The arrest was condemned by international human rights organizations and the US government. 2007–2011 activism and arrests On 8 March 2007, Quân was detained after he returned to Vietnam from a fellowship with the U.S.-based National Endowment for Democracy. Hưng Yên Province
Hưng Yên (/hɨŋ˧˧:iən˧˧/) is a province in the Red River Delta of Northern Vietnam. History Dynastic period The area of the province of Hưng Yên has been inhabited for millennia. Under the Ngô dynasty, it was called Dang Chau. It was then renamed Thái Bình prefecture under the Early Lê dynasty, Dang Chau and Khoái Châu phủ under the Lý dynasty and Long Hưng garrison and Khoái lo under the Trần Dynasty.
