New Zealand Men's National Netball Team
The New Zealand men's national netball team, nicknamed the Net Blacks and also referred to as New Zealand Men or Aotearoa Men, represents the New Zealand Men's and Mixed Netball Association in international men's netball competitions, including the Trans-Tasman Cup, played against Australia, and the Men's Fast5 Netball World Series. During the 2020s, Trans-Tasman Cup matches have acted a curtain raisers for Constellation Cup matches, while the Men's Fast5 Netball World Series' have been played alongside the women's series. New Zealand Men have also played in the Cadbury Netball Series against New Zealand Women and other women's and mixed teams. Netball was one of the sports contested at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, held in Birmingham, England. This was the seventh staging of netball at the Commonwealth Games since its inclusion in 1998, and the second staging within England specifically. The 2024 Men's Fast5 Netball World Series was the 3rd Men's Fast5 Netball World Series. The tournament was played at Christchurch's Wolfbrook Arena, alongside the women's series, in November 2024. The series featured three men's netball teams representing New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Australia won the series after defeating New Zealand 32–30 in the final. Australia's pre-match dance to NSYNC's ''Bye Bye Bye'' saw them widely viewed on social media. However, this also led to homophobic abuse. World Netball, previously known as the International Netball Federation and the International Federation of Netball Associations, is the worldwide governing body for Netball. The INF was created in 1960 and is responsible for world rankings, maintaining the rules for netball and organising the Netball World Cup and Netball at the Commonwealth Games. Spark Arena (also known as Auckland City Arena, and formerly as Vector Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
