Netherlands At The 2024 Summer Olympics
The Netherlands competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. Dutch athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the sparsely attended 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis and 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne (except the equestrian events in Stockholm), which the Netherlands boycotted because of the Soviet invasion of Hungary. The Netherlands left Paris with 34 medals (15 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze), this was the country's highest number of gold medals in a single Olympics, beating the 2000 Summer Olympics record of 12. The Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation, ( nl, Nederlands Olympisch Comité*Nederlandse Sport Federatie) generally abbreviated NOC*NSF, is the overall coordinating Dutch sports organization that also functions as the Dutch National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee. Tone Wieten (born 17 March 1994) is a Dutch representative rower. He is a European champion, a dual Olympian and an Olympic and world champion. His world championship title was won in the men's quad scull at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. He won a bronze medal in the Dutch eight at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro he was in the Dutch men's eight which won a bronze medal. In the Dutch men's quad scull at Tokyo 2020 he won an Olympic gold medal and set a new world's best time for that event. Annette Duetz (born 29 June 1993 in Zeddam) is a sailor from the Netherlands. Together with Annemiek Bekkering, she is the bronze medalist of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Skiff – 49er FX.
