The Nemzeti Bajnokság I (, commonly abbreviated NB I) is the premier men's professional handball league in Hungary, administered by the Hungarian Handball Federation. Since 2016 the official name of the championship is ''K&H Férfi Kézilabda Liga'' due to sponsorship reasons. Overview Running since 1951, the Hungarian championship is among the strongests in Europe. Veszprém KC have won the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 2008 and have reached the semi-final of the EHF Champions League three times in the last nine seasons, capturing a silver medal in 2002. Sándor Vass
Sándor Vass (born August 11, 1946, in Budapest) is a Hungarian former handball player and coach. In 1972 he was part of the Hungarian team which finished eighth in the Olympic tournament. He played all six matches and scored eleven goals. Eight years later he finished fourth with the Hungarian team in the 1980 Olympic tournament. He played all six matches and scored 16 goals. He also appeared on two World Championships in 1970 and 1974, finishing eighth and seventh, respectively. Vass has been the coach of the Hungarian men's national team between 1997 and 1999. István Marosi
István Marosi (; 5 April 1944, Ózd – 31 January 2018) was a Hungarian handball player. In 1972 he was part of the Hungarian team which finished eighth in the Olympic tournament.
