Nemzeti Bajnokság I (Rugby Union)
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB II. Budapesti TC
Budapesti Torna Club was a Hungarian sports club in Budapest and the first football club in the country. Its football team were the winners of the first two seasons of Nemzeti Bajnokság I, in 1901 and 1902. History The club was founded on 21 January 1897. It was the first official football club to be founded in Hungary, and would soon be followed by many others. On 18 September that year it played the first official match in Hungarian history, between two internal teams, the blue-white one and the red-white one, with the former winning 5–0. On 31 October it played the first international match of a Hungarian club, when it played against Austria's Vienna Cricket and Football Club in Vienna, losing 2–0. It was one of the founders of the Hungarian football leagues, the Nemzeti Najnokság, and the winner of its first two editions. Csepel SC
Csepel SC () is a Hungary, Hungarian sports club based in Csepel, the XXI district of Budapest, which is on an island in the Danube in the south of the city. The club was formed in 1912 as ''Csepeli Torna Klub'' ("gymnastics club"). The Csepel SC football department Csepel SC have won the Hungarian League, Hungarian football championship four times. György Sárosi
György Sárosi (; 5 August 1912 – 20 June 1993) was a Hungarian footballer. Sárosi was a complete footballer renowned for his versatility and technique among other things, and he played in several positions for Ferencváros and the Hungary national team. Essentially a second striker, he could also operate in midfield or central defence, and he helped Ferencváros win five Hungarian league titles between 1932 and 1941. He is considered one of the greatest players of the pre-war era. He scored a goal in the 1934 FIFA World Cup, but his finest hour came when he captained Hungary to the 1938 FIFA World Cup finals, where he scored five goals in the tournament, including one in the final to reduce Italy's lead to 3–2, although a Silvio Piola goal eventually finished off the Hungarians. Gyula Zsengellér
Gyula Zsengellér (27 December 1915 – 29 March 1999) was a Hungarian footballer who played as a striker. A legend of Újpest FC, he is most famous for his part in taking the Hungary national team to the 1938 World Cup Final. He was that tournament's second-highest scorer, behind Leonidas of Brazil. His first international cap came on 2 December 1936, when Hungary lost 6–2 to England. In total, he gained 39 caps for his country, scoring 33 goals. This makes him the eighth-highest goalscorer of all-time for the Hungary national side. Zsengellér also played 325 games in the Hungarian league and scored 387 goals between 1935 and 1947, making him the third-highest goalscorer of all-time in the Hungarian league. Újpest Football Club () is a Hungary, Hungarian professional association football, football club based in Újpest, Budapest, that competes in Nemzeti Bajnokság I. Formed in 1885, Újpest reached the first division of the Hungarian League in Nemzeti Bajnokság I 1905, 1905 and has been relegated only once since then. The club has been a member of the first division for 108 consecutive years.
