Naude's Neck Pass, in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, connects Maclear to Rhodes. The Eastern Cape ( ; ) is one of the nine provinces of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, and its largest city is Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). Maclear, officially Nqanqarhu, is a small town situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, near the Mooi River (a tributary of the Tsitsa River), north of East London and northeast of Elliot. It lies just north-east of Ugie. The land to the east and south was part of the former homeland of Transkei. History It was founded in 1876 as a military camp, called ''Nqanqaru Drift'' and developed rapidly, reaching municipal status in 1916. Rhodes is a hamlet or small village alongside the wild trout rich Bell River, near Ben Macdhui (at 3001 m the highest mountain in the Cape region) in the Drakensberg mountains of the north Eastern Cape, South Africa. Mount Fletcher
Tlokoeng, formerly Mount Fletcher, is a town in Joe Gqabi District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, 69 km north-north-east of Maclear. It is a birthplace of both political activities Epainette Mbeki and Oscar Mpetha. Founded in 1882, Mount Fletcher takes its name from the mountain nearby. Qacha's Nek
Qacha's Nek is a constituency and, since 1888, the camptown (capital) of Qacha's Nek District in Lesotho, only two kilometres from the South African border at above sea level. It has a population of approximately 15,900 (2016). It is home to Machabeng Government Hospital, one of the two hospitals in the district (the other being the Lesotho Evangelical Church's Tebellong Hospital, which is about away, across the Orange River which is known as Senqu in Lesotho). Tourism features The town is home to Lesotho's first and only Snake Park, which is conveniently situated at the foot of the historic Letloepe hill/rock formation. Barkly East
Barkly East (Afrikaans: Barkly-Oos) is a town in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, seat of the Joe Gqabi District Municipality, and 117 km by road E.S.E. of Aliwal North, lying in the mountainous area just south of Lesotho.
