National Students' Union Of India
The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) is the student wing of the Indian National Congress. It was established on 9 April 1971, founded by Indira Gandhi after merging the Kerala Students Union and the West Bengal State Chhatra Parishad to form a national students' organisation. Varun Choudhary is current National President of NSUI. With 40 Lakh Members and a presence in 15,000 Colleges across the country, NSUI is the World’s Largest Progressive Student Organisation. Membership In order to become a member of NSUI, one must be under 27 years of age, must be a student, must be a citizen of India, must not be part of any other political organization and must not have been convicted of any criminal activity in past. Ashok Tanwar (born 12 February 1976) is an Indian politician who has served as the President of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Member of Parliament from Sirsa and Secretary, All India Congress Committee. Alka Lamba (born 21 September 1975) is an Indian politician serving for the President of All India Mahila Congress. After serving the Indian National Congress in various capacities for more than 20 years, she quit to join the Aam Aadmi Party on 26 December 2014.
