National First XV Championship (New Zealand)
The National First XV Championship (or the Top 4) is the Premier Rugby Union competition for Secondary Schools/Colleges in New Zealand. Since 2016, the Top 4 tournament has been based at the Massey University Sport and Rugby Institute in Palmerston North. The New Zealand Schools' and New Zealand Barbarians Schools' teams are generally announced at the conclusion of the tournament, whereby a development camp will take place the following week at the Institute. The winning school of the Top 4 tournament is awarded the National Championship title and recognised as the top NZ 1st XV school in the nation. Additionally, they are nominated as the representative team for New Zealand at the SANIX World Rugby Tournament. If the scores are tied at fulltime, the title is shared and the SANIX nomination is decided as-per the semi-final tiebreaker process. Massey University
Massey University () is a Public university, public research university in New Zealand that provides internal and distance education. The university has campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Wellington. Data from Universities New Zealand shows that in 2024 the university had approximately 26,505 students enrolled, making it the country's second-largest university. Research is undertaken on all three campuses and people from over 130 countries study at the university. According to the university's annual report, in 2023, around 17.8% of students were based at the Auckland campus, 19.2% at the Manawatū (Palmerston North) campus, and 13.9% at the Wellington campus. Hastings Boys' High School
Hastings Boys' High School is a boys' secondary school in Hastings, New Zealand. The school is part of the Super 8. The school was founded in 1904 as Hastings High School. In 1922, it became Hastings Technical School under the leadership of William Penlington, who remained headmaster until 1949. In the mid-1950s, the school split into Hastings Girls' High School and Hastings Boys' School. It has four Houses, Te Mata (red), Heretaunga (blue), Te Kahu (grey) and Manu Huia (black). These houses compete in many sporting events with each other throughout the year. Students at Hastings Boys' High School organised a conference in 1999 to consider cloning the Huia, their school emblem. The Blues (; known as the Auckland Blues from 1996 to 1999) are a New Zealand professional rugby union team based in Auckland, who play in the Super Rugby competition. Like New Zealand's four other Super Rugby teams, the Blues were established by the NZRU in 1996. Kelston Boys' High School
Kelston Boys' High School ("KBHS") () is an all-boys state secondary school in Kelston, a suburb in the Waitakere region of Auckland, New Zealand. It was created in 1963 when the roll of Kelston High School (formed in 1954) became too large for the site on the corner of Archibald and Gt North Rds. The boys moved to a new site further down Archibald Road, leaving the original site to be the home of Kelston Girls High School (now Kelston Girls' College). Although the school is known for the strength of its various sports teams, it has also had some notable achievements in music, dance and theatresports and produced some outstanding academic results. Feilding High School
Feilding High School is a co-ed Secondary School (Year 9–13) in Feilding, New Zealand. It is the only secondary school in the town of Feilding. History The school was originally named the Feilding Technical High School and subsequently became known as the Feilding Agricultural High School (FAHS). The school's foundation stone was laid on 7 February 1921 by the then Minister for Education the Honourable James Parr (politician), James Parr. The Crusaders (; formerly Canterbury Crusaders) are a New Zealand professional rugby union team based in Christchurch, who compete in the Super Rugby competition. They are the most successful team in the competition's history and have won a total of 14 titles (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023, as well as two regionalised Super Rugby titles in 2020 and 2021).
