Nanchang West Railway Station
Nanchang West or Nanchangxi () is a railway station on the Shanghai–Kunming and Hangzhou–Changsha high-speed lines located in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. The foundation was laid in August 2010 and the station opened to service on 26 September 2013. The station building occupies an area of . Nanchangxi is serviced by two side platforms and ten island platforms. Nanchangxi is situated on Line 2 of the Nanchang Metro, which opened on 18 August 2017. Jiangxi (; ; formerly romanized as Kiangsi or Chianghsi) is a landlocked province in the east of the People's Republic of China. Its major cities include Nanchang and Jiujiang. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Nanchang Metro Line 2 (also known as Nanchang Rail Transit Line 2 in official documents) is a rapid transit line in Nanchang, from Nanlu to Xinjia'an. The line is 31.51 km in length with 28 stations. The section from Nanlu to Metro Central (19.63 km) opened on 18 August 2017. The section from Metro Central to Xinjia'an (11.88 km) opened on 30 June 2019.
