NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Championship
The NAIA Division II women's basketball championship is the former NAIA Women's Basketball Championships, tournament held by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its Division II (NAIA), Division II members in the United States and Canada. The tournament was held annually from 1992 to 2019, after which the NAIA consolidated its two divisions, returning to the single national championship for men's and women's basketball that it held between 1981 and 1991. The last separate Division II tournament was scheduled for 2020, but it was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thus making the 2019 the last completed event. Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. Tarleton State Texans Women's Basketball
The Tarleton State Texans women's basketball team represents Tarleton State University, located in Stephenville, Texas. Through the 2019–20 season, the team competed in NCAA Division II as a member of the Lone Star Conference. The Texans began a four-year transition to NCAA Division I in July 2020, joining the Western Athletic Conference. The Texans are currently coached by first-year head coach Bill Brock and play their games at Wisdom Gymnasium on its campus in Stephenville. Husson Eagles
Husson University is a private university in Bangor, Maine. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and as of Fall 2020 had a total enrollment of 3,476 students, including 799 graduate students in master's and doctoral programs.
