Modular Lattice
In the branch of mathematics called order theory, a modular lattice is a lattice that satisfies the following self- dual condition, ;Modular law: implies where are arbitrary elements in the lattice,  ≤  is the partial order, and  ∨  and  ∧ (called join and meet respectively) are the operations of the lattice. This phrasing emphasizes an interpretation in terms of projection onto the sublattice , a fact known as the diamond isomorphism theorem. An alternative but equivalent condition stated as an equation (see below) emphasizes that modular lattices form a variety in the sense of universal algebra. Modular lattices arise naturally in algebra and in many other areas of mathematics. In these scenarios, modularity is an abstraction of the 2nd Isomorphism Theorem. For example, the subspaces of a vector space (and more generally the submodules of a module over a ring) form a modular lattice. In a not necessarily modular lattice, there may ...

List Of Spokane, Portland And Seattle Railway Locomotives
The Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway (SP&S) used a combination of new and used locomotives. For more information see the SP&S Historical Society Resources.https://www.spshs.org/resources/ Steam locomotives Most of these locomotives were purchased or leased from the SP&S's parent roads Great Northern Railway and Northern Pacific Railway. The 4-8-4 Northerns and 4-6-6-4 In the Whyte notation for classifying steam locomotives by wheel arrangement, a 4-6-6-4 is a railroad steam locomotive that has four leading wheels followed by two sets of six coupled driving wheels and four trailing wheels. 4-6-6-4's are comm ... Challengers were purchased new. This roster groups steam locomotives by their wheel arrangement and the railroad's designated class. Diesel locomotives Most of these locomotives were purchased new by the SP&S. Some were, however, purchased second-hand from the Great Northern. The SP&S gained some popularity with railroad fans for its large proportion of d ...

Pentazolium
Pentazole is an aromatic molecule consisting of a five-membered ring with all nitrogen atoms, one of which is bonded to a hydrogen atom. It has the molecular formula . Although strictly speaking a homocyclic, inorganic compound, pentazole has historically been classed as the last in a series of heterocyclic azole compounds containing one to five nitrogen atoms. This set contains pyrrole, imidazole, pyrazole, triazoles, tetrazole, and pentazole. Derivatives Substituted analogs of pentazole are collectively known as pentazoles. As a class, they are unstable and often highly explosive compounds. The first pentazole synthesized was phenylpentazole, where the pentazole ring is highly stabilized by conjugation with the phenyl ring. The derivative 4-dimethylaminophenylpentazole is among the most stable pentazole compounds known, although it still decomposes at temperatures over 50 °C. It is known that electron-donating groups stabilize aryl pentazole compounds. Ions The c ...

Pentazenium
In chemistry, the pentazenium cation (also known as pentanitrogen) is a positively-charged polyatomic ion with the chemical formula and structure . Together with solid nitrogen polymers and the azide anion, it is one of only three poly-nitrogen species obtained in bulk quantities. History Within the High Energy Density Matter research program, run by the U.S. Air Force since 1986, systematic attempts to approach polynitrogen compounds began in 1998, when Air Force Research Laboratory at Edwards AFB became interested in researching alternatives to the highly toxic hydrazine-based rocket fuel and simultaneously funded several such proposals. Karl O. Christe, then, a senior investigator at AFRL, chose to attempt building linear out of and , based on the proposed bond structure: : The reaction succeeded, and was created in sufficient quantities to be fully characterized by NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy in 1999. The salt was highly explosive, but when was replaced by , a stron ...

N5 (song)
"N5" is a song recorded by Argentine singer Lali. The song was released by Sony Music Argentina on 22 June 2022, as the fourth single from Lali's fifth studio album, '' Lali'' (2023). The song was written by Lali, Martín D'Agosto and its producer Mauro De Tommaso. The song's title references the famous perfume Chanel No. 5 by Coco Chanel. Lyrics and composition "N5" is a pop song with elements of house and flamenco. The incorporation of elements of Spanish culture into her music is only natural as Lali had settled in Spain between 2019 and 2022 to film '' Sky Rojo''. In fact, Lautaro Furiolo, the director of the single's music video, revealed that Lali wrote the song with the Madrilenian night in mind. Its lyrics find Lali describing a same-sex relationship for the first time after coming out as bisexual some years before. Background and release The song was released on 22 June 2022, one day before Lali kicked off her Disciplina Tour. Once "N5" was released, fans and the m ...

Japanese-Language Proficiency Test
The , or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability. The test is held twice a year in Japan and selected countries (on the first Sunday of July and December), and once a year in other regions (either on the first Sunday of December or July depending on region). The JLPT is conducted by the Japan Foundation for tests overseas (with cooperation of local host institutions), and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services for tests in Japan. The JLPT consists of five independent levels of certification, with 5 the lowest and 1 the highest. Until 2009, the test had four levels of certification. JLPT certificates do not expire or become invalid over time. History The JLPT was first held in 1984 in response to the growing demand for standardized Japanese language certification. Initially, 7,000 people took the test. Until 2003, the JLPT ...

USS N-5 (SS-57)
USS ''N-5'' (SS-57) was a N-class coastal defense submarine of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid down on 10 April 1915 by Lake Torpedo Boat Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The N-boats built by Lake had slightly different specifications from the ones built by Seattle Construction and Drydock and are sometimes considered a separate class. ''N-5'' was launched on 22 March 1917 sponsored by Mrs. George Bevans, and commissioned at New York Navy Yard on 13 June 1918. Service history Sailing from New York City on 20 June to New London, Connecticut, for fitting out and thence proceeding to Newport, Rhode Island, to load torpedoes, ''N-5'' began patrols off New England and in Long Island Sound on watch against attacks on coastal shipping by German U-boats. In August and September she deployed under tow by a decoy ship, the sailing vessel . On 7 September, after parting tow from her escort in a heavy sea, she was mistaken by an armed transport for a U-boat and was fired ...

SP&S Class N-5
The Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway (SP&S; ) was a railroad in the northwest United States. Incorporated in 1905, it was a joint venture by the Great Northern Railway and the Northern Pacific Railway to build a railroad along the north bank of the Columbia River. The railroad later built or acquired other routes in Oregon. The SP&S was merged into the Burlington Northern in March 1970. Remnants of the line are currently operated by BNSF Railway and the Portland and Western Railroad. History The railroad was chartered in 1905 by James J. Hill to connect the two transcontinental railroads owned by him, the Northern Pacific (NP) and Great Northern (GN), to Portland, Oregon from Spokane, Washington, to gain a portion of the lumber trade in Oregon, a business then dominated by E. H. Harriman's Union Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads. Construction began in 1906"Greatest Year for Railroad Construction: Building in Territory Tributary to Portland During 1906 Breaks All Reco ...

5 Nanometer
In semiconductor manufacturing, the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems defines the "5 nm" process as the MOSFET technology node following the "7 nm" node. In 2020, Samsung and TSMC entered volume production of "5 nm" chips, manufactured for companies including Apple, Huawei, Mediatek, Qualcomm and Marvell. The term "5 nm" does not indicate that any physical feature (such as gate length, metal pitch or gate pitch) of the transistors is five nanometers in size. Historically, the number used in the name of a technology node represented the gate length, but it started deviating from the actual length to smaller numbers (by Intel) around 2011. According to the projections contained in the 2021 update of the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems published by IEEE Standards Association Industry Connection, the 5 nm node is expected to have a gate length of 18 nm, a contacted gate pitch of 51 nm, and a tightest metal pitch of 30 nm. ...

Nexus 5
Nexus 5 (code-named Hammerhead) is an Android smartphone sold by Google and manufactured by LG Electronics. It is the fifth generation of the Nexus series, succeeding the Nexus 4. It was unveiled on October 31, 2013 and served as the launch device for Android 4.4 "KitKat", which introduced a refreshed interface, performance improvements, greater Google Now integration, and other changes. Much of the hardware is similar to the LG G2 which was also made by LG and released earlier that year. The Nexus 5 received mostly positive reviews, praising the device's balance of overall performance and cost in comparison to other "flagship" phones, along with the quality of its display and some of the changes introduced by Android 4.4. The Nexus 5 was followed by the Nexus 6 in October 2014, although the Nexus 6 is a higher-end phablet and not a direct successor, with the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 sold alongside each other for several months. Google ended production of the Nexus 5 in ...
