Michael Hancock (Colorado Politician)
Michael B. Hancock (born July 29, 1969) is an American author and politician serving as the 45th Mayor of Denver, Colorado since 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he was in his second term as the Denver City Councilor from the 11th district at the time he was elected to the mayorship. During his tenure on the Denver City Council from July 20, 2003, to July 18, 2011, Hancock served two terms as the body's president, the last ending in 2008. He was sworn in as Mayor of Denver on July 18, 2011, after defeating Chris Romer in a runoff election on June 7, 2011. Easily reelected with no significant opposition in 2015, Hancock was reelected to a third term in 2019. He is Denver's second African American mayor after Wellington Webb. Fort Hood is a United States Army post located near Killeen, Texas. Named after Confederate General John Bell Hood, it is located halfway between Austin and Waco, about from each, within the U.S. state of Texas. Tara Kay Mack (née Tara Klongerbo; born June 26, 1983) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Elizabeth A. Hodges (born September 7, 1969) is an American politician who served as the 47th Mayor of Minneapolis from 2014 to 2018. Höfði () is a house in Reykjavík, Iceland, best known as the location for the 1986 Reykjavík Summit meeting of President Ronald Reagan of the United States and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union. Manual High School (Colorado)
Manual High School is located in the Whittier neighborhood on the east side of Denver, Colorado, United States. History Old East High School was completed in 1889, making it the oldest high school in Denver. It was located on Stout Street between 19th and 20th and was demolished in 1925. Manual High School was also one of the oldest high school in Denver, opening in 1892. The original building was located near the current one. Manual was also one of the first schools in Denver to educate African-Americans. During the 1970s and 1980s, the school had a diverse student body, a result of desegregation busing which began in 1970. Once a model of educational excellence and community, Manual High School fell on hard times after the school district ended bussing for integration in 1995.
