This is a list of the members (academicians) of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). CAE academician is the highest academic title officially recognized by the Chinese government in engineering and technological sciences. Chinese Academy Of Engineering
The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE, ) is the national academy of the People's Republic of China for engineering. It was established in 1994 and is an institution of the State Council of China. The CAE and the Chinese Academy of Sciences are often referred to together as the "Two Academies". Its current president is Li Xiaohong. Since the establishment of CAE, entrusted by the relevant ministries and commissions, the Academy has offered consultancy to the State on major programs, planning, guidelines, and policies. With the incitation by various ministries of the central government as well as local governments, the Academy has organized its members to make surveys on the forefront, and to put forward strategic opinions and proposals. Gu Songfen
Gu Songfen (; born 4 February 1930) is a Chinese aircraft designer. He participated in the design of the Shenyang JJ-1, China's first jet trainer, and was the chief designer of the Shenyang J-8 and J-8II, China's first high-speed, high-altitude interceptor fighter jets. He served as vice president and chief designer of the Shenyang Aircraft Design Institute, and is an academician of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Early life Gu was born 4 February 1930 in Suzhou, Jiangsu, Republic of China. He is the younger son of Gu Tinglong (), a well known sinologist and calligrapher. His given name "Songfen" comes from a passage of the 3rd-century treatise '' Wen fu'' written by Lu Ji. Ji Guobiao
Ji Guobiao (; 1 March 1932 – 5 September 2019) was a Chinese chemical engineer and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He was a pioneer of chemical fiber engineering technology in China. Early life and education Ji was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, in March 1932. He studied at Donglin Academy and Furen High School. After the liberation of Shanghai in 1949, he was accepted to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he majored in the Department of Industrial Management and Department of Textile Dyeing and Chemical Industry. In 1951, due to the adjustment of the faculty, he became a new transfer student at East China Institute of Textile Science and Technology (now Donghua University). Huang Xuhua
Huang Xuhua (; born 12 March 1926) is a Chinese mechanical engineer and submarine designer, and was one of the chief designers for the country's first generation of nuclear submarines ( Type 091 and Type 092). He is director emeritus of the Wuhan-based 719 Research Institute (Nuclear Submarine Institute) of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. His name was classified until 1987. Biography Huang was born on 12 March 1926 in Swabue, Kwangtung Province, of Jieyang ancestry. He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1949. Hu Qiheng
Hu Qiheng (born 1934) is a Chinese computer scientist. Hu was the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1987 to 1996 and led the National Computing and Networking Facility of China which connected China to the Internet in April 1994. Hu was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2013 as a global connector. Early life and education Hu was born in 1934 in Beijing, China. She graduated from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Machinery in 1963 with an associate's degree in healthcare. He Dequan (; born July 31, 1933) is a Chinese engineer specializing in information security. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and serves as deputy director of the Advisory Committee for State Informatization (ACSI). Biography He was born in Beijing, on July 31, 1933, while his ancestral home in Ningbo, Zhejiang. In 1953 he graduated from Peking University. In the 1980s, he took part in the 863 Program, heading the information security. He once served as director of Beijing Institute of Information Technology Application.
