Melissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988) is a Canadian actress and singer. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of ''Canadian Idol'', the first Canadian female to have won. As an actress, she is known for her roles as Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin on the Syfy science fiction series ''Dark Matter'' and as Officer Lucy Chen on the ABC police procedural drama series '' The Rookie''. Early life O'Neil was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her mother is Hong Kong Chinese, and her father is of Irish descent. O'Neil attended Terry Fox Junior High School. She attended Lester B. Pearson High School in Calgary where she performed in musicals, played rugby and was on the basketball team. Isaac "Zack" Werner is a Canadian artist, producer, entertainment lawyer and manager. Early life and education Born in Winnipeg in 1960, Werner attended the St. John's-Ravenscourt School. He received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from the University of British Columbia. Musical career Werner moved to Toronto and joined local rock band ''The Ringing''. The band, managed by Gary Pring (Glass Tiger), secured a development deal with Capitol Records. Werner formed the group Thick As Thieves (not to be confused with the Australian band of the same name) and relocated to Los Angeles. Daniel Victor (born September 20, 1979) is a Canadian recording artist and producer from Windsor, Ontario, best known for the collaborative music project Neverending White Lights, which features instrumentation performed mostly by Victor, with guest singers providing vocals for most of the songs. Early life Victor was born in Canada to an Italian father and Argentinian mother, and raised in southern Ontario. His father was a musician and performer, and exposed him to music from an early age. He began studying the piano at age six, under the direction of nuns at a local conservatory. After five years, he quit piano lessons to play by ear and compose freely. North Bay, Ontario
North Bay is a city in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is the seat of Nipissing District, and takes its name from its position on the shore of Lake Nipissing. North Bay developed as a railroad centre, and its airport was an important military location during the Cold War. It was written for the final two contestants—O'Neil and Rex Goudie—of the third season of ''Canadian Idol'', and both performed a different version of the song.
