Kevin Lincoln (born 1980) is an American politician who was elected in 2021 as the mayor of Stockton, California. Biography Kevin Jeffery Lincoln was born 28 October 1980, in San Joaquin County, and raised in Stockton. His mother was of Mexican Americans, Mexican descent and his father was African American. In 2001, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served on Air Force One during the administration of George W. Bush. He returned to California, and worked in Silicon Valley, for AlliedBarton in 2005-2008, Securitas AB in 2008-2009, and AlliedBarton again in 2009-2013. He then returned to Stockton and became executive pastor of LifeSong Church. Samuel Purdy
Samuel Purdy (1819 – February 17, 1882) was an American politician. A Democrat, he served as the third Lieutenant Governor of California from 1852 to 1856. He also was the first mayor of Stockton, California, from 1850 to 1851. Early life Purdy was born in New York City in 1819, and was Purdy educated to be an architect. Career In October 1850, Purdy was elected as the first mayor of Stockton, California. Purdy designed the city seal that was adopted by its city council. In 1852, Purdy became the Lieutenant-Governor of California, until 1856. On September 5, 1855, Purdy lost the election as Lieutenant-Governor of California. Purdy was defeated by Robert M. Anderson with 50.9% of the votes. Stockton is a city in and the county seat of San Joaquin County in the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California. Gary Allen Podesto (October 19, 1941 – June 29, 2023) was an American politician and businessman who served as the 75th mayor of Stockton, California from 1997 until 2005. Personal life Podesto went to St. Mary's High School in Stockton and graduated in 1959. He went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin later that year but left when the football team was cut. He instead went to Santa Clara University from which he graduated with a degree in economies in 1963. He briefly took evening classes at Humphreys College in 1960s. In 1962, Podesto married Janice, whom he had met at St. Mary's High School. Podesto died at his home near Bozeman, Montana, at the age of 81 on June 29, 2023. Edward "Ed" Chavez (born 1943) is a former American politician and law enforcement officer who served as the 76th mayor of Stockton, California from 2005 until 2009. Prior to that, Chavez served as the city's police chief from 1993 to 2005. Early life and education Edward Chavez was born in Stockton, California, in 1943 to Pilar and Santiago Chavez. Ann Johnston is an American politician who served as the 77th mayor of Stockton, California from 2009 until 2013. She ran for re-election in 2012 but was defeated by Anthony Silva. Political career Johnston served as a Lodi Unified School District Board Member from 1979 to 1992. Several years later, in 1994, Johnston ran for the Stockton City Council and won. She successfully ran for re-election in 1998 and left the office in 2002. Years later, Johnston declared her candidacy for the city's mayor in the 2008 election, and won, receiving 55.8% of the vote. Anthony Silva (born 1974) is an American politician who served as the 78th mayor of Stockton, California from 2013 until 2017. He is also a member of the San Joaquin County Central Committee of the Republican Party.
