John Marvin Jones
John Marvin Jones (February 26, 1882 – March 4, 1976) was a United States representative from Texas and a Judge of the United States Court of Claims. Education and career Born on February 26, 1882, in Valley View, Cooke County, Texas, Jones attended the common schools and then received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1902 from John B. Denton College (now defunct), a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1905 from Southwestern University and a Bachelor of Laws in 1907 from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the bar the same year. He entered private practice in Amarillo, Texas from 1908 to 1917. He was a member of the Texas Board of Legal Examiners for the Seventh Supreme Judicial District in 1913. He was a member of the Democratic National Congressional Campaign Committee. He was a United States Army private in Company A of the 308th Battalion of the Tank Corps in 1918. Marvin Jones (linebacker)
Marvin Maurice Jones (born June 28, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a middle linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for eleven seasons during the 1990s and early 2000s. Jones played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and was recognized as an All-American twice. He was drafted in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and he played his entire professional career for the Jets. In 2018, Jones was the head coach for the Cedar Rapids Titans in the Indoor Football League (IFL) and served as head coach of the Omaha Beef in the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) from 2020-2022. Beginning in 2023, Jones will be the head coach of the IFL's Tulsa Oilers. Marvin Lewis Jones Jr. (born March 12, 1990) is an American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft and has also played for the Detroit Lions. He played college football at California. Marvin Jermaine Jones (born December 29, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Hapoel Holon of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for Highland CC, Kent State and Texas Southern. High school career Jones played high school basketball at Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois under head coach Troy Jackson. Jones was named to the NWI Times Illinois All-Area honorable mention honors as a senior and helped the Wildcats capture four consecutive regional championships.
