Marvin Leland Johnson (April 13, 1927 – February 8, 1981) was a player in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Johnson was born Marvin Leland Johnson on April 13, 1927 in Orange, California. He died in Palo Alto in 1981. Career Johnson played with the Los Angeles Rams during the 1951 NFL season. He later played with the Green Bay Packers during the 1953 NFL season after having split the previous season between the Rams and the Packers. He played at the collegiate level at San Jose State University. Marvin Johnson (born June 22, 1956) is a retired American basketball player who played two years for the University of New Mexico varsity under coach Norm Ellenberger. A transfer from Howard Junior College, he led the Lobos in scoring in his rookie season in 1976–77. Johnson was chosen on the second round by the Chicago Bulls in the 1978 NBA draft. Marvin Johnson (born April 12, 1954) is an American former boxer who was a 3-time light-heavyweight champion of the world. As an amateur, Johnson fought in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, winning a bronze medal, and made his way up the professional ranks in the light heavyweight division soon thereafter. Johnson was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008 alongside Lennox Lewis and Pernell Whitaker. His nickname is "Pops". Marvin Anthony Johnson (born 29 October 1968) is an English former professional footballer who spent his entire career at Luton Town, playing as a defender. Playing career Johnson signed professional terms with Luton Town on 12 November 1986 as an 18-year-old centre back who could also play as either a full back or midfielder. Johnson made his league debut for Luton on 5 March 1988, in a 2–0 loss against Wimbledon. His career spanned 16 years across the top four league divisions of England, experiencing three relegations and a promotion. Appointed as club captain during 1995–96, Johnson made a total of 440 appearances for Luton, 373 of which came in the league. Towards the end of his career Johnson was plagued by injuries, and he officially retired from playing in 2003.
