Cadence Recordings, formerly MapleMusic, is a Canadian independent record label founded by Andy Maize, Jeff Maize, Mike Alkier, Evan Hu, Lorique Mindel and Grant Dexter in 1999 and based in Toronto, Ontario. Other investors include Gary Slaight, Michael Burke and Universal Music. In 2016, its parent Company Maple Core changed its name to Cadence Music Group, and as a result, MapleMusic was renamed as Cadence Recordings. History The MapleMusic Recordings label is a project of Andy Maize from Canadian roots rock band Skydiggers and Maple CEO Grant Dexter. Gordon Downie
Gordon Edgar Downie (February 6, 1964 – October 17, 2017) was a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, musician, writer and activist. He was the singer and lyricist for the Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip, which he fronted from its formation in 1984 until his death in 2017. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and popular artists in Canadian music history. Sam Roberts (born October 2, 1974) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter who has released seven albums. His debut EP ''The Inhuman Condition'', reached the Canadian charts in 2002. It was released on 16 September 2011 in Japan and on 10 October 2011 internationally by XL Recordings. ''The King of Limbs'' is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. It was self-released on 18 February 2011 as a download, followed by a physical release on 28 March through XL Recordings internationally and TBD Records in North America. Following the more conventional instrumentation of ''In Rainbows'' (2007), ''The King of Limbs'' saw Radiohead move further from standard song structures and recording methods. They developed the album with their producer Nigel Godrich through sampling and looping; the singer, Thom Yorke, described it as "an expression of wildness and mutation". ''In Rainbows'' is the seventh studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. It was self-released on 10 October 2007 as a pay-what-you-want download, followed by a physical release internationally through XL Recordings and in North America through TBD Records. The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir is a Canadian indie rock band led by Hugh Dillon and based in Kingston, Ontario. The band's style draws from country music, country, pop music, pop, punk rock, punk and New wave music, new wave influences. History Dillon formed the band in Kingston in 2004. Lead singer Dillon projected a less aggressive style in this band than in his previous group Headstones (band), Headstones.
