Mõmmi Ja Aabits
''Mõmmi ja aabits'' (English: ''Teddy Bear and the Alphabet Book'') is an Estonian children's television series, where a little bear cub learns letters from a primer. The children's show is based on Heljo Mänd's story "Karu aabits" (1971). The program was broadcast on Eesti Televisioon (ETV) from 1973 until 1976. The director of the series was Kaarel Kilvet, the co-director was Tiiu Vahi, the artist was Gunta Randla, and the music was composed by Tõnis Kõrvits. History The first broadcast went live on 18 March 1973, and was in black and white. By 1976, 17 episodes were made. These shows have not survived on tape. Another version was recorded in color in 1977–1978, which is also the most well-known. At the end of the 1970s, another seven-part series was made, where Mõmmi already attends school, but these parts have not been preserved either. Heljo Mänd (until 1934 Heljo Kleinmüller, 1934–1946 Heljo Raidla; 11 February 1926 in Narva – 6 December 2020) was an Estonian children's writer, novelist, newspaper editor and poet. Eesti Televisioon (ETV) () is an Estonian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Estonian Public Broadcasting. It made its first broadcast on 19 July 1955. History Eesti Televisioon (''Estonian Television'') was launched on 19 July 1955. Before that, television broadcasts in Estonia could only be received from Moscow. The first Estonian-language TV presenter was Ofelia Mikk, whose debut was in the 19 July 1955 test broadcast. Her tenure in television was cut short, because she misspoke out of nervousness. Kaarel Kilvet (13 July 1944 Pärnu – 30 April 2005 Tallinn) was an Estonian actor, singer and director. In 1970 he graduated from Tallinn State Conservatory's Performing Arts Department. 1970-1993 he was an actor and director in Estonian Youth Theatre. 1993-1998 he was a director in Endla Theatre. Since 1998 he was a freelancer. He was a member of the folk music groups Kukerpillid and Leegajus, and a founder and member of the folk and comedy musical trio Hampelmann, with Jüri Aarma and Lauri Nebel. Ivo Eensalu (born 3 April 1949) is an Estonian actor and theatre director. Eensalu's career began in the early 1970s, and has appeared as an actor on stage, film and in television. Early life and education Ene Järvis was born in Kiidjärve, Põlva County to parents Paul and Amanda Elfriede Järvis. Maria Klenskaja
Maria Klenskaja (29 January 1951 – 6 January 2022) was an Estonian actress. Early life and career Klenskaja was born in Tartu and was of Russian parentage. From 1968 until 1970, she worked in the Estonian State Youth Theatre in Tallinn as a make-up artist and in the prop department.
