My Gym Children's Fitness Center
My Gym Children's Fitness Center is a worldwide fitness center for children between the ages of 4 months to 10 years. The company was formed in 1983 by Yacov and Susi Sherman and today has over 700 units worldwide. My Gym offers fitness classes, birthday parties, summer camps, and events for children ages six weeks to nine or ten years old. My Gym programs include movement, tumbling, and exercise. In the fall of 2008, My Gym won a ''Parent's Choice'' award for their DVD ''My Gym at Home, Fun With Monique''. Sherman Oaks (founded in 1927) is a neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles, California within the San Fernando Valley region. Tumbling (gymnastics)
Tumbling, sometimes referred to as power tumbling, is a gymnastics discipline in which participants perform a series of acrobatic skills down a long rod floor. Each series, known as a pass, comprises eight elements in which the athlete jumps, twists and flips placing only their hands and feet on the track. The President's Challenge (also called Presidential Champions) was an American program promulgated by the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition that aimed to encourage all Americans to "make being active part of their everyday lives" and to be physically fit. The President's Challenge was introduced by Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
