Philip Gröning
Philip Gröning (born 7 April 1959 in Düsseldorf) is a German director, documentary film maker and screenwriter. Career Gröning was raised in Germany and US, but also traveled extensively. He studied Medicine and Psychology before beginning in the cinema with some acting. In 1986 he began doing his own films. His first documentary was ''The Last Picture Taken.'' In 2005 he gained acclaim for '' Into Great Silence''. His 2013 film '' The Police Officer's Wife'' was screened in the main competition section at the 70th Venice International Film Festival and won the Special Jury Prize. The 68th annual Berlin International Film Festival took place from 15 to 25 February 2018. German filmmaker Tom Tykwer served as Jury President. American film director Wes Anderson's animated film ''Isle of Dogs'' opened the festival, becoming first animated film to open the fest. The Golden Bear (german: Goldener Bär) is the highest prize awarded for the best film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The bear is the heraldic animal of Berlin, featured on both the coat of arms and flag of Berlin. History The winners of the first Berlin International Film Festival in 1951 were determined by a West German panel, with five winners of the Golden Bear, divided by categories and genres. Stefan Konarske (born in Stade, Germany on 28 February 1980) is a German film, television and stage actor. Biography Konarske studied in Paris before returning to Germany where he had his start as a young actor in a private Hamburg theatre company. He then studied at Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts graduating in 2006 with distinction after four years of studies. While studying, he played the title role in a production of Bertolt Brecht's '' Baal''. In the 2006-2007 season, he also made his debut at the Deutsches Theater in the role of Orest in ''Drei Sterne suchen einen Koch'' directed by Michael Thalheimer. For this role he was named "Young Actor of the Year 2007" by the magazine ''Theater''.
