The muki (Quechua for asphyxia, also for a goblin who lives in caves, also spelled ''muqui'' or ''mooqui'') is a goblin-like creature in the mythology of the Central Andes in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. He is known to be a miner and his existence is constrained to underground spaces: The ''muki'' lives inside the mines. Despite the distance and the isolation of the mining camps, the belief and the description of the ''muki'' is consistent throughout Peru, from the highlands of Puno in the south to Cajamarca in the north. Danny Niv (; born March 2, 1975, in Rishon LeZion, Israel), better known as Mooki () is an Israeli singer and rapper, best known as the frontman for the Israeli hip hop/punk act Shabak Samech between 1992 and 2000, and again since 2007. He is also a successful solo artist. In Shabak Samech, he was also known by the nickname Mookie D, given him due to the resemblance of his voice to the voice of Mike D of the Beastie Boys. Biography Born Daniel Neyburger (), Mooki became a musician at the age of 17, when he formed the hip hop act Shabak Samech with a group of friends. The band proved successful among Israeli youth and sold thousands of records. The band was active from 1992 until 2000, releasing three studio albums and one live album. The band reunited in 2007 for a short tour across Israel and a new album. Rosa Bonaparte
Rosa Filomena "Muki" Cardoso Bonaparte Soares (18 February 1957 – 8 December 1975) was an East Timorese revolutionary and women's rights activist. Born in what was then Portuguese Timor, in 1973 she won a scholarship to study in Portugal, where she joined the Casa dos Timores and became involved in Marxist and anti-colonial politics. Returning to Timor in late 1974, she was a founding member of Fretilin and served on the party's central committee. Known for her intensity and small figure, she was called "the petite revolutionary", "Rosa Luxemburg", and to her Fretilin comrades, "Muki". In August 1975, Bonaparte became the first secretary-general of the Popular Organization of Timorese Women (OPMT), the Fretilin women's wing.
