The Moroccan National Olympic Committee ( ar, اللجنة الأولمبية الوطنية المغربية, french: Comité National Olympique Marocain, es, Comité Olímpico Nacional Marroquí, abbreviated as CNOM) is a non-profit organization serving as the National Olympic Committee of Morocco. Brahim Lahlafi
Brahim Lahlafi ( ar, إبراهيم لحلافي) (born 15 April 1968, in Fes) is a retired long-distance runner who represented Morocco during his active career. He acquired French citizenship on 6 April 2002, but represented Morocco again from 15 March 2007. His greatest achievement was the Olympic bronze medal in 2000. This was his first medal at a major international event, having barely missed the podium at the 1995 World Cross Country Championships (5th place) and twice in 5000 metres at the World Championships; 1995 (5th) and 1999 (fourth). He did win a bronze medal in 3000 metres at the 1998 African Championships. In 1996 he was the winner of the inaugural Belgrade Race Through History competition. Brahim Boulami
Brahim Boulami ( ar, ابراهيم بولامي) (born April 20, 1972 in Safi) is a Moroccan athlete who set two world records in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, 7:55.28 and 7:53.17. The latter was overturned because he tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug EPO. Boulami was banned for two years in 2002 after the positive test. His time of 7:55.28 in the 3000 meter steeplechase from the year before the positive test is currently the fourth fastest ever run. His older brother Khalid Boulami is an Olympic bronze medalist. These are the official results of the Men's 3000 metres Steeplechase event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. There were a total number of 35 participating athletes, with two semi-finals and three qualifying heats. Perhaps after watching the slow start four years earlier, this time Kenyans wanted less drama than their casual sweep of 1992. From the gun, Joseph Keter took the lead. Moses Kiptanui got a poorer start but simply ran around the outside of the pack and joined Keter from barely 150 metres into the race and that was it. The two never relinquished the lead. Defending champion Matthew Birir made it a touch more dramatic by being last off the line and took all of an additional 50 metres to join the pack at the front. Hicham Bouaouiche (born 16 June 1974) is a retired Moroccan long-distance runner who specialized in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He finished eleventh at the 1996 Summer Olympics, fifth at the 1997 World Championships in Athletics, and eleventh in the Grand Prix Final the same year.
