Morni
Morni is a village and tourist attraction in the Morni Hills in the Panchkula district of the northern Indian state of Haryana. The village lies at a height of above sea level and is located around from Chandigarh and from Panchkula city. It is known for its view of the distant Himalayas, as well as its flora and lakes. The name "Morni" is believed to derive from a queen who once ruled the area two thousand years ago. She was said to be a just and noble ruler. Morni was also a jagir of Raja Mir Syed Muhammad Baquar Ali Khan. Geography The Morni Hills are offshoots of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas, which run in two parallel ranges. The village of Morni lies on the mountainside, at above mean sea level. Among the spurs of the hills lie two lakes, the larger of these being about long and broad, and the smaller around either way. Tourism The Haryana Government has constructed the Mountain Quail Resort for tourists.

Morni Fort
Morni Fort is a nature museum and learning centre situated in Morni Village, about 32 km from Panchkula City in the Panchkula district in Indian state of Haryana. The 200 years old Morni fort in Morni hills was transformed into a museum at a cost of over INR 1 crore. Inauguration It was inaugurated on 13 November 2017 by Rao Narbir Singh who is Forests and Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Haryana. The Haryana Government gave the contract to a company that runs a NGO-Prakriti. History The Morni fort has four towers. The inside of the fort was improved in 1814 during the time when the King of Sirmur came to the fort to hide after he was overthrown from Nahan by Gurkhas. Raja Mir Syed Muhammad Baquar Ali Khan Bahadur (1842–1902) C.I.E., The Mir of Kotaha and the Raja of Morni and Pindrawal,Asian Review 1902 -- Page 443 was a noted zamindar and philanthropist from Morni who lived in Pindrawal in United Province of British India. Early life He was born in year 1842 in the noted Lalkhani branch of Muslim Rajputs. He was born to Quasim Ali Khan aka Kasim Ali Khan and Latif-ul-nissa. His father, Quasim Ali was son of Mir Akbar Ali, the Mir of Kotaha, while his mother was granddaughter of Raja Nahar Ali Khan and daughter of Akbar Ali Khan of Pindrawal. Panchkula District
Panchkula district was formed as the 17th district of the Indian state of Haryana on 15August 1995. It comprises two sub divisions and two tehsils: Panchkula and Kalka. It has 264 villages, out of which 12 are uninhabited and ten wholly merged with towns or treated as census towns according to the 1991 census. There are five towns in the district: Barwala, Kalka, Panchkula, Pinjore and Raipur Rani.
