The Morelos Open is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hardcourts. It is currently part of the ATP Challenger Tour and is held annually in Cuernavaca, Mexico since 2014. It was part of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ITF Women's Circuit, Women's Circuit from 2015 until 2016. Cuernavaca
Cuernavaca (; , "near the woods" , Otomi language, Otomi: ) is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state, state of Morelos in Mexico. Along with Chalcatzingo, it is likely one of the origins of the Mesoamerica, Mesoamerican civilization. Olmec works of art, currently displayed in the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City were found in the Gualupita III archeological site. The city is located south of Mexico City and reached via a 90-minute drive using the Mexican Federal Highway 95D, Federal Highway 95D. The name ''Cuernavaca'' is a phonaesthetics, euphonism derived from the Nahuatl toponym and means 'surrounded by or close to trees'. Jay Alexander Clarke (born 27 July 1998) is a British tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 153 achieved on 22 July 2019. Clarke has won twelve Futures titles and four Challenger titles. Dennis Novikov (born November 6, 1993) is an American professional tennis player born in Russia. He won both the singles and doubles titles at the USTA Boys 18s National Championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2012. As a result, he was awarded wild cards into the main draw of the US Open in both singles and doubles. He did not join the UCLA tennis team until March 2012, first competing on March 27.
