Monza–Molteno Railway
The Monza–Molteno railway is a railway line in Lombardy, Italy. The line was opened as a private railway on 14 October 1911. The only train service is the Line S7 (Milan suburban railway service), S7 Milano-Monza-Molteno-Lecco line of Milan suburban railway service. Monza Railway Station
Monza railway station () is the main station serving the city and ''comune'' of Monza, in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. Opened in 1840 under the Habsburg monarchy, the station forms part of the Milan–Chiasso railway, and is a junction station for two secondary lines, the Lecco–Milan railway and the Monza–Molteno–Lecco railway. It is also the main railway junction of the Brianza geographical area, which encompasses the province of Monza and Brianza, Province of Lecco, Province of Como and part of the Province of Milan. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Line S7 (Milan Suburban Railway Service)
The line S7 () is a commuter rail route forming part of the Milan suburban railway service (), which converges on the city of Milan, Italy. The route runs over the infrastructure of the Milan–Monza and the Monza–Molteno railways and the section from Molteno to Lecco, opened on 20 November 1888, of the Como–Lecco railway. In the section from Molteno to Lecco it is also present another regional service train connecting Como and Lecco. Like all the other Milan suburban railway service routes, it is operated by Trenord. Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) is the Italian railway infrastructure manager, subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS), a state-owned holding company. RFI is the owner of Italy's railway network, it provides signalling, maintenance and other services for the railway network. It also operates train ferries between the Italian Peninsula and Sicily. RFI's origins can be traced back to a series of railway sector reforms enacted by the Italian government during the late 1980s and 1990s. The agency was founded on 1 July 2001 in accordance with a European directive on rail transport that mandated the separation of the infrastructure operator and the service operators. Milan Suburban Railway Service
The Milan S Lines constitute the commuter rail system serving the metropolitan area of Milan, Italy. The system comprises 12 lines serving 124 stations, for a total length of 403 km. There are 415 trains per day with a daily ridership of about 230,000. The core of the system is the Passante, an underground railway running through the city approximately from the north-west to the south-east. Several lines share this track, making the service in the city centre comparable to a metro line or ''S-Bahn'' system. The service timetable is based on a clock-face scheduling. Although operated by different companies, the Milan Metro and the suburban rail service have integrated tickets. Network Lines in darker background run through the Milan Passante railway.
