The Puntland Ministry of Interior Federal Affairs and Democratization () formerly known as the Puntland Ministry of Interior, Local Governments and Rural Development () is the government body responsible for governance and development of Puntland’s communities for the portfolio of municipalities, including district council formation and implementing systems for local governance. The ministry supports service delivery at the local level through political, fiscal and administrative decentralization. Since 2022, it was ministered by Abdi Farah Said Juha. Government Of Puntland
The Government of Puntland () () is the supreme governing authority of the autonomous region of Puntland State of Somalia. The legal structure of Puntland consists of the judiciary (Supreme Court), legislative (House of Representatives) and the executive (the President, Vice president and his nominated council of Ministries) branches of government. Puntland has conducted Seven presidential elections (1998, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2019, 2024). Five Presidents are elected by a 66-member unicameral parliament. Abdi Farah Saed Juxa is a Puntland politician currently serving as the Puntland minister of interior. He previously served as Puntland's minister of education. On 21 March 2017, he was appointed as Somalia's Minister of Interior and Federal Affairs by Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire. Puntland (), (), (), officially the Puntland State of Somalia ( Somali: ''Dowladda Buntilaan ee Soomaaliya)'', Arabic: ولاية أرض البنط الصومالية), is a Federal Member State in northeastern Somalia. Hassan Abshir Farah
Hassan Abshir Farah (, ; June 20, 1945 – July 12, 2020) was a Somali politician. He previously served as mayor of Mogadishu and interior minister of Puntland. From November 12, 2001 to November 8, 2003, he was also prime minister of Somalia. Farah was an MP in the Federal Parliament of Somalia. Biography Farah was born in 1945 in the former Italian Somaliland. He hailed from Majeerteen subclan of Darod. Between 1961 and 1965, he attended secondary school in Mogadishu, the nation's capital. General Abdullahi Ahmed Jama Ilkajiir (, ) is a Somali politician, who was Puntland's Interior Minister from 17 January 2009 to 5 February 2014. He is the former Minister of Education of Somalia, having been appointed to the position on 12 January 2015 by the former Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke. However, he only served 2 weeks when on 17 January 2015, Prime Minister Sharmarke dissolved his newly nominated cabinet due to vehement opposition by legislators, who rejected the reappointment of certain former ministers. Ahmed Elmi Osman 'Karash' (, ) Ahmed Karaash is a former Vice President of Puntland from 8 January 2019 to 8 January 2024. Personal life Osman belongs to the Naleye Ahmed sub-subsection of the Mohamoud Garad branch of the Dhulbahante Harti Darod clan.
