Coat Of Arms Of Lebanon
Lebanon never officially adopted a coat of arms or emblem. However, various unofficial coats of arms have been used since the proclamation of independence on 7 December 1943. The main variant consists of a red shield with a white bend (heraldry), bend sinister on which is placed a Cedrus libani, cedar tree. It is similar to the flag of Lebanon, with the exception of the Spanish fess on the flag being changed into a bend sinister. Henri Pharaon
Henri Philippe Pharaon (هنري فيليب فرعون; also referred to in some sources as Henry Pharoun; 1901 – August 6, 1993), was a Lebanese art collector, sportsman, politician, and businessman. He played a crucial role in securing Lebanon's independence from France and served as foreign minister and other cabinet positions. He was assassinated in 1993. Biography Pharaon was born into a prominent Lebanese Melkite Catholic family that originated in present-day Syria. His father Philippe Pharaon was a wealthy Lebanese merchant in Alexandria, Egypt. Four years later his family moved to Beirut, where he was educated in Jesuit schools. He attended college in Switzerland, and received a law degree at Lyon University in France. Saadi Al Munla (; 4 November 1890 – 12 December 1975) was a Lebanese people, Lebanese statesman, lawyer, and journalist who is regarded as one of the forefathers of modern Lebanon. Born in Tripoli in 1890, he rose to prominence as a leading political figure during the final years of Ottoman and French rule. Philippe Takla
Philippe Takla (3 February 1915 – 10 July 2006) was a Lebanese lawyer, diplomat and politician who served as foreign minister. Early life Takla was born into a Greek Catholic family on 3 February 1915. His father, Salim Takla, was a politician and a member of the Lebanese Parliament from Mount Lebanon. Career Takla was a lawyer by profession. He was first elected to the Lebanese parliament in a by-election held in May 1945 in Mount Lebanon as a result of the death of his father, Salim Takla, on 11 January who was the deputy for the region. One of the candidates for the seat was Elias Rababi from the Kataeb Party. Philippe Takla was also won the seat in the 1947 and 1957 general elections. Sami Solh
Sami (El) Solh (; 1887–1968) was a Lebanese Sunni Muslim politician. He was a relative of former Lebanese prime ministers Riad Solh, Takieddine Solh and Rachid Solh. He served as Prime Minister of Lebanon five times (1942–43, 1945–46, 1952, 1954–55, and 1956–58). Biography Solh was born into a Sunni family in 1887. He grew up in Turkey, Greece, and Lebanon. Solh survived many assassination attempts two of which occurred on 20 April and 29 July 1958 while he was serving as the prime minister. He also held the portfolio of defense minister in 1957 and 1958. Solh married Balqis Rida Solh who was the sister of the Prime Minister Riad Solh. He spoke French, Arabic, Greek and Turkish.
