Ministry Of Colleges And Universities
The Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security () (the Ministry of Colleges and Universities before 2025) is the ministry of the Government of Ontario responsible for administration of laws relating to post-secondary education. This ministry is one of two education ministries, the other being the Ministry of Education (responsible for primary and secondary schools across Ontario). The Ministry's offices are in downtown Toronto. The current minister is Nolan Quinn. History In May 1964, the ''Department of University Affairs Act'' was passed establishing the Department of University Affairs. The department was charged with administering the government's support programs for higher education, previously the responsibility of the Department of Education. Nolan Quinn (born June 3, 1983) is a Canadian politician, who serves as the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities (Ontario), Minister of Colleges and Universities since August 16, 2024. He was previously Associate Minister of Forestry. Bette Stephenson
Bette Mildred Stephenson Pengelly (July 31, 1924 – August 19, 2019) was a Canadian medical doctor and politician in Ontario. She served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1975 to 1987 and was a cabinet minister in the Progressive Conservative governments of Bill Davis and Frank Miller. James Alexander Charles Auld (July 22, 1921 – June 30, 1982) was an Ontario political figure. George Albert Kerr (January 27, 1924 – May 21, 2007) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1963 to 1985, and was a cabinet minister in the governments of John Robarts and Bill Davis. John Howard White (August 16, 1925 – September 5, 1996) was a Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Progressive Conservative cabinet minister in Ontario, Canada, and Member of Provincial Parliament (Ontario), Member of Provincial Parliament for London South from 1959 to 1975. John Parmenter Robarts (January 11, 1917 – October 18, 1982) was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the 17th premier of Ontario from 1961 to 1971. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Early life Robarts was born in Banff, Alberta, to Herbert Roberts and Ellen Florence May Robarts, making him the only Ontario premier not to have been born in Ontario.
