Military Museum's Manege
The Military Museum of Finland () is the central museum of the Finnish Defence Forces and the national special museum of military history. It is located in Helsinki and it is part of the Finnish National Defence University. In 2018, the Military Museum's exhibitions in Suomenlinna had around 131,000 visitors. The most popular exhibition is the submarine Finnish submarine Vesikko, ''Vesikko'', visited by around 50,000 people annually. Submarine Vesikko
''Vesikko'' is a submarine, which was launched on 10 May 1933 at the Crichton-Vulcan dock in Turku. Until 1936 it was named by its yard number CV 707. ''Vesikko'' was ordered by a Dutch engineering company Ingenieurskantoor voor Scheepsbouw (a German front company) in 1930 as a commercial submarine prototype, being the prototype for the German Type II submarines. Purchased by the Finnish before World War II, she saw service in the Winter War and Continuation War, sinking the Soviet merchant ship ''Vyborg'' as her only victory. After the cease-fire with the Allies in 1944, ''Vesikko'' was retired. Finland was banned from operating submarines after the war and she was kept in storage until she was turned into a museum ship. The Artillery Museum Of Finland
The Artillery Museum of Finland (''Suomen Tykistömuseo'' in Finnish) is a special military museum dedicated to the history of the artillery from the 15th century to the present day. It was located in Niinisalo from 1977 to 1997. In 1997 it was relocated to Hämeenlinna. History A museum dedicated to the field artillery was discussed in Finland already in the 1930s but the Second World War put an end to that discussion. The idea was revived again in the beginning of the 1970s. A possibility of establishing the museum seemed feasible but the location was problematic. Proximity of some large artillery garrison was considered best for the museum. In the heart of Satakunta, in Niinisalo, a suitable building was found. The Engineers Museum (also known as the Engineer Museum, the Pioneer Museum or the Sapper Museum; , ) was a military engineering museum in Finland. It was the oldest corps museum in Finland. It was opened on 13 May 1945 in the garrison of Koria, which was the part of Elimäki municipality, now Kouvola town. The Engineers Museum had the status of the scientific military museum and it was supervised by the Military Museum of Finland (). The Engineers Museum was re-opened in Miehikkälä in 2007. The Finnish Air Force Museum (), formerly the Aviation Museum of Central Finland (), is an aviation museum located near Jyväskylä Airport in Tikkakoski, Jyväskylä, Finland. The museum exhibits the aviation history of Finland, from the early 1900s until today. The museum is owned by the Foundation of Aviation Museum of Central Finland (). Parola Tank Museum, officially Armoured Vehicle Museum (Finnish language, Finnish ''Panssarimuseo'', Swedish language, Swedish ''Pansarmuséet'') is a Museum#military museum, military museum located 110 kilometres north of Helsinki in Parola (Hattula), Parola, near Hämeenlinna, Finland, a few kilometres from the Armoured Brigade (Finland), Finnish Army Armoured Brigade training unit. It displays various tanks, armoured vehicles and anti-tank guns used by the Finnish Defence Forces throughout their history, including the Leopard 2A4 tank which is in present service. Rare exhibits are an armoured train used in World War II and the only surviving example of the BT-42 assault gun.
