Milankovič (lunar Crater)
''Milankovič'' is a lunar impact crater that is located in the high northern latitudes on the far side of the Moon. Overlapping the southeastern rim is the smaller but more sharply defined crater Ricco. Just to the south is Karpinskiy, and to the north is the prominent Plaskett. This is a worn and eroded crater formation with a distorted outer rim. In the northwestern quadrant of the crater interior is what appears to be a double rim. The outer rim is circular in form along this edge but shallow. The inner rim forms a somewhat linear shelf that runs from the north to the west sides. The remainder of rim is rounded and uneven. Within the interior, the outer rampart of Ricco covers the southeastern part of the floor. The rest of floor is relatively level, with only some low hills near the midpoint. Clementine (spacecraft)
''Clementine'' (officially called the Deep Space Program Science Experiment (DSPSE)) was a joint space project between the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (previously the Strategic Defense Initiative, Strategic Defense Initiative Organization) and NASA, launched on January 25, 1994. Its objective was to test sensors and spacecraft components in long-term exposure to space and to make scientific observations of both the Moon and the near-Earth asteroid 1620 Geographos. Its lunar observations included imaging at various wavelengths in the visible as well as in ultraviolet and infrared, laser ranging Altimeter, altimetry, gravimetry, and charged particle measurements. These observations were for the purposes of obtaining multi-spectral imaging of the entire lunar surface, assessing the surface mineralogy of the Moon, obtaining altimetry from 60°N to 60°S latitude, and obtaining gravity data for the near side. 1605 Milankovitch, provisional designation , is an Eoan asteroid from the outer region of the asteroid belt, approximately 31 kilometers in diameter. It was named after Serbian scientist Milutin Milanković. Discovery ''Milankovitch'' was discovered on 13 April 1936, by Serbian astronomer Petar Đurković at the Royal Observatory of Belgium in Uccle, Belgium. Two nights later, the body was independently discovered by Polish astronomers Jan Piegza and Tadeusz Banachiewicz at Cracow and Warsaw, respectively. It was first identified as at the U.S. Taunton Observatory () in 1907. Plaskett (crater)
Plaskett is a prominent Lunar craters, lunar impact crater that is located on the northern sphere, hemisphere on the Far side (Moon), far side of the Moon. It lies only a few hundred kilometers south of the lunar north pole, and the sunlight it receives is at a low angle. The large walled plain Rozhdestvenskiy (crater), Rozhdestvenskiy is attached to the northeast rim of Plaskett, between the crater and the pole. To the south is the overlapping crater pair of Milankovic (lunar crater), Milankovic and Ricco (crater), Ricco. The outer rim of Plaskett has a somewhat polygonal shape formed from outward bulges in the perimeter. Karpinskiy is a Lunar craters, lunar impact crater that lies in the northern part of the Moon on the Far side (Moon), far side from the Earth. This crater is concentric with a larger and older formation lying along the southern rim. This combined rim gives Karpinskiy a larger and wider interior wall along its south face. Just to the north is the double-crater formation of Milankovic (lunar crater), Milankovic and Ricco (crater), Ricco, which lies across the northern part of the large crater containing Karpinskiy.
