Michael Clive Green (born 8 September 1946) is an English former professional association football, football player and manager. As player, he made more than 400 appearances in the Football League as a defender (association football), centre half for Carlisle United F.C., Carlisle United, Gillingham F.C., Gillingham, Bristol Rovers F.C., Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle and Torquay United F.C., Torquay United. As manager, he took charge of Torquay United. Green was born in Carlisle, Cumberland, and began his career as an apprentice with Carlisle United F.C., Carlisle United, turning professional in September 1964. He played only two league games for Carlisle, both the following season, before moving to Gillingham F.C., Gillingham in July 1968. He soon found a regular place at Priestfield Stadium, playing 132 league games, scoring 24 goals. Carlisle
Carlisle ( , ; from ) is a city in the Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. Carlisle's early history is marked by the establishment of a settlement called Luguvalium to serve forts along Hadrian's Wall in Roman Britain. Due to its proximity to Scotland (being located south of the current Anglo-Scottish border), Carlisle Castle and the city became an important military stronghold in the Middle Ages. The castle served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and currently hosts the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. The Football League Second Division was the second level division in the English football league system between 1892 and 1992. Plainmoor is an association football stadium located in the Plainmoor suburb of Torquay, Devon, England. Since 1921, the stadium has been the home of Torquay United F.C., Torquay United Football Club, who currently compete in the National League South, the sixth tier of English football. Frank O'Farrell
Francis O'Farrell (9 October 1927 – 6 March 2022) was an Irish football player and manager. He played as a wing half for Cork United, West Ham United and Preston North End. He made over 300 appearances in the Football League before joining Weymouth as player-manager.
