MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a private Nazarene (evangelical Christian) university in Olathe, Kansas, United States. It was established in 1966. History Mid-America Nazarene College (MANC) was founded in 1966. In 1996 Mid-America Nazarene College formally changed its name to MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU). Campus The campus is located at 2030 East College Way, Olathe, Kansas, United States. The land was donated by Robert R. Osborne, a retired banker. Proposed sites for the college also included Wichita, Topeka, and Ottawa, Kansas. The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC or The Heart) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Member institutions are located in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska in the United States. History The HAAC's earliest ancestor was the Missouri College Athletic Union (MCAU), which was formed in 1924 when the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association (now the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association or MIAA) split in two. Olathe ( ) is the county seat of Johnson County, Kansas, United States. Gordon DeGraffenreid
Gordon Dean DeGraffenreid (June 21, 1943 – August 8, 2020) was an American athletics coach. He was the first head football coach at MidAmerica Nazarene College—now known as MidAmerica Nazarene University—from 1979 to 1990 and compiled an overall record of 41–53. DeGraffenreid also coached football and track and field for Pacific High School and Richmond High School. DeGraffenreid was born on June 21, 1943, in Lake Ozark, Missouri. He attended and played college football for Missouri Valley as a guard and linebacker. He died on August 8, 2020, in Olathe, Kansas. In North America, a bowl game, or simply bowl, is one of a number of postseason college football games primarily played by NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams. For most of its history, the FBS did not use a playoff tournament to determine an annual national champion, instead relying on a vote by sportswriters or coaches.
