Michigan Wolverines Women's Soccer
The Michigan Wolverines women's soccer team is the women's intercollegiate soccer program representing the University of Michigan. The school competes in the Big Ten Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Michigan women's soccer team plays its home games at the U-M Soccer Stadium on the university campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan has won three Big Ten tournaments and has advanced as far as the quarterfinals in the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship since the creation of the program in 1994. History Women's soccer has been a varsity sport at the University of Michigan since 1994, and the team has played in the Big Ten Conference since its formation. Jennifer Klein (born June 20, 1984) is an American soccer coach who is the current head coach at Michigan. Playing career Klein played as a midfielder for the Arizona Wildcats from 2002 to 2005. Katie Hultin
Kathryn Joan Hultin (born September 27, 1982) is an American soccer coach for Grand Valley State University, formerly a goalkeeper for the Seattle Sounders Women of the United Soccer Leagues W-League. She previously played for FC Gold Pride in Women's Professional Soccer. Early life Born in Denver, Colorado to parents, Wally and Donna Hultin, Katie attended Thomas Jefferson High School where she was elected school president and worked as the editor-in-chief of the yearbook. During her freshman year, she helped the team go 9–3 and finish second in the state. Her goals against average was third in state rankings. 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament
The 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament was the 40th edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. The College Cup was played on December 3 and December 6. It was originally set to be played in San Jose, California, but was moved to Stevens Stadium due to a conflict with the MLS playoffs schedule. The Florida State Seminoles defeated the BYU Cougars on penalty kicks to win the National Championship. Qualification The tournament returned to 64 teams after only featuring 48 teams in the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament also returns to the fall, after being held in the spring in 2020. The tournament also returned to its normal format of having the higher seeds host matches until the College Cup. Greg Ryan
Mark Gregory Ryan (born January 21, 1957) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a defender in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He was the head coach of the United States women's national soccer team from 2005 to 2007. He was previously the head coach at University of Wisconsin–Madison, Southern Methodist University, and Colorado College, and was an assistant with the national team. In 1983, Ryan entered the coaching ranks, while still playing, when he served as an assistant coach with Colorado College men's soccer team. Ryan retired from playing after the first MISL season of the Sting in 1985 and moved to the University of Wisconsin–Madison where he coached in various capacities until 1993. In 1991, he was named the women's college coach of the year. In 1996, he moved to Southern Methodist University where he compiled a 37–21–5 record as the women's soccer coach.
