Micheál Martin (Gaelic Footballer)
Micheál Aodh Martin (born 1994) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Cork Championship club Nemo Rangers and at senior level for the Cork county team. He usually lines out as a goalkeeper. He is the son of Micheál Martin, Ireland's fifteenth Taoiseach. Career Martin first came to prominence as a Gaelic footballer with the Nemo Rangers club, beginning at juvenile and underage levels before progressing onto the club's senior team. He lined out in goal when the club were beaten by Corofin in the 2018 All-Ireland club final, while he has also won four Cork PSFC titles, including one as team captain in 2020. Martin first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Cork minor football team in 2012 before later winning a Munster Championship title with the under-21 team. Ballinlough, Cork
Ballinlough () is a mainly residential townland and suburb on the southside of Cork city, in Ireland. It is located between Ballintemple and the larger suburbs of Douglas and Blackrock. History Among the earliest written references to the townland and then village of Ballinlough date from 1601 (as "Ballinlogha") in the Calendar to Fiants of reign of Henry VIII, and from 1655 (as "Ballinloghy") in the Down Survey. These Irish language names (, the town of the lake) reflected the position of the village focal-points (including Ballinlough House and the original Ballinlough school), close to Lough Mahon and the Douglas River Estuary. The Ballinlough Stone, a standing stone near Ballinlough House, was surveyed by antiquary Thomas Crofton Croker in the early 19th century. The 2015 National Football League known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz National Football League was the 84th staging of the National Football League (NFL), an annual Gaelic football tournament for the Gaelic Athletic Association county teams of Ireland. The League began on Saturday 31 January 2015. Thirty-one Gaelic football county teams from the island of Ireland, plus London, participated. TG4 and Setanta provided live coverage of the league with highlights shown on RTÉ2 on Sunday nights. 2020 Cork Premier Senior Football Championship
The 2020 Cork Premier Senior Football Championship was the inaugural staging of the Cork Premier Senior Football Championship and the 132nd staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking Gaelic football teams in Cork. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 19 November 2019. The championship was scheduled to begin in April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games. The championship eventually began on 24 July 2020 and, after being suspended once again on 5 October 2020, and eventually ended on 29 August 2021. Nemo Rangers were the defending champions. The final was played on 29 August 2021 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, between Castlehaven and Nemo Rangers, in what was their third final meeting and their first in six years. The 2019 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 131st staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 18 March 2019 and ended on 27 October 2019. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Nemo Rangers at the quarter-final stage. Femoy secured promotion to the top tier championship after a 54-year absence. On 27 October 2019, Nemo Rangers won the championship after a 2–08 to 0–10 defeat of Duhallow in the final at Páirc Uí Rinn. Munster Senior Club Football Championship
The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. It has been organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1964. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the final usually being played in late November. The prize for the winning team is the O'Connor Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. The Munster Championship is an integral part of the wider All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.
