Michael Joseph Connelly (born July 21, 1956) is an American author of Detective fiction, detective novels and other crime fiction, notably those featuring Los Angeles Police Department, LAPD Detective Harry Bosch, Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch and criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller. Connelly is the bestselling author of 38 novels and one work of non-fiction, with over 74 million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into 40 languages. Michael G. Connelly is a former Republican member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 21st district, from 2013 to 2018. He previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2009 to 2012. Political career Connelly served as a Lisle village trustee from 2001 to 2006 as well as sittinggon in theLIstle Township Republican Committee. In 2006, he was elected to the DuPage County Board, representing the 5th district. In 2008, he was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 48th district. Michael Connelly (c. 1843 – November 10, 1881) was a United States Navy sailor and a Medal of Honor recipient for his role in the American Civil War. He served under the name John Mack. Born in about 1843 in Brooksville, Maine, Connelly joined the Navy from that state. By March 5, 1865, he was serving as a seaman on the . On that day and the next, he accompanied a Union Army force during the Battle of Natural Bridge near St. Marks, Florida. He helped transport and fire a naval howitzer throughout the engagement despite heavy Confederate fire. For this action, he was awarded the Medal of Honor three months later, on June 22, 1865; the medal was issued under the name "John Mack". He was one of six sailors to receive the medal for manning artillery pieces during the battle, the others being Landsman John S. Michael Connelly (29 April 1887 – 30 October 1970) was a New Zealand trade unionist, politician of the Labour Party, and a Member of the Legislative Council (upper house) from 1936 to 1950. Biography Early life and career Connelly was born in Kakaramea in 1887 where his father was a farmer. Early in his life, they moved to the West Coast and gained work as a coal miner. He joined the trade union movement and was elected an executive member of the Paparoa Miners' Union. In 1911 he moved to Wellington to work for the New Zealand Railways Department. Subsequently, he was active in the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants as Secretary of the Thorndon (Wellington) branch 1914–18, Greymouth branch 1920–21, and national president 1923–25. Michael Aynsley Connelly (21 February 1916 – 27 August 2003) was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party, and a Cabinet Minister from 1972 to 1975 in the Third Labour Government. Biography Early life Connelly was born in Wellington on 21 February 1916. His primary schooling was in Greymouth and later he attended Christian Brothers' High School in Dunedin. He was steeped in unionism and politics from a young age. His father Michael Connelly was a prominent trade unionist, foundation Labour Party member, city councillor and member of the Legislative Council. Michael James Connelly (October 16, 1935 – October 4, 2021) was an American professional football player who was an offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at Utah State University and was drafted in the 12th round of the 1959 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Early life Connelly attended Pasadena High School, where he practiced football and baseball. He accepted a scholarship from Washington State University, playing freshman football. He then transferred to Pasadena City College for one season. Michael Conneely
Michael Conneely (born 14 June 1949) is an Irish former hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Galway senior team. Born in Bullaun, County Galway, Conneely first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-five when he made his senior debut with Galway in the 1974 championship. Conneely went on to play a key role for Galway, and won one All-Ireland medal and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. As a member of the Connacht inter-provincial team at various times, Conneely enjoyed little success in the Railway Cup medal. At club level he was a one-time Connacht medallist with Sarfields. In addition to this he also won one championship medals. Throughout his career, Conneely made 14 championship appearances for Galway.
