The Miami RedHawks women's basketball team represents Miami University in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Redhawks play home basketball games at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio. Oxford is a city in northwestern Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 23,035 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Glenn Box
Glenn Box is an American basketball coach who is the women's basketball head coach at Miami University. Coaching career Box began his collegiate coaching career in 2002 at Rend Lake College as an assistant for the men's basketball team for three seasons before taking over as head coach for Rend Lake's women's basketball program from 2005 to 2008. At Rend Lake he compiled a 64–31 overall record as a head coach. In 2008, Box began a career as an assistant coach in NCAA Division I women's basketball with his first stint in the MAC where he was an assistant coach at Western Michigan for two seasons. Millett Hall
Millett Hall () is a basketball arena in Oxford, Ohio. It is home to the Miami University men's and women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. It is also the home of the ROTC program and various university events. It is named after Miami University's 16th President John D. Millett. The original construction cost was approximately $7.5 million. It is located on the northern part of Miami's campus, near Yager Stadium (Miami University), Yager Stadium. The Miami RedHawks are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, United States. Mid-American Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament is the postseason single-elimination tournament for the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference (MAC). The winner of the tournament receives the MAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. As of the next MAC tournament in 2021, the top eight teams in conference play will qualify for the tournament. The tournament final (among other rounds) has been held in Cleveland since 2000, starting with Public Hall before moving to Rocket Arena in 2001 to match the men's basketball tournament, where it has been since. Women's National Invitation Tournament
The Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) is a women's national college basketball tournament. It used to feature both a preseason and postseason version played every year, but the preseason tournament was last held in 2023. It is operated in a similar fashion to the men's college National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and NIT Season Tip-Off. Unlike the NIT, the women's tournament is not run by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), but is an independent tournament. Triple Crown Sports, a company based in Fort Collins, Colorado that specializes in the promotion of amateur sporting events, created the WNIT in 1994 as a preseason counterpart to the then-current National Women's Invitational Tournament (NWIT). Megan Duffy (born July 13, 1984) is an American women's basketball coach, currently the head coach at Virginia Tech. Previously, she had been the head coach with Marquette, before that the Miami RedHawks women's basketball team, an associate head coach with the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team, George Washington Colonials women's basketball team, an assistant coach with St. John's Red Storm women's basketball team, and a professional basketball player in the WNBA, most recently playing for the New York Liberty. DeUnna Hendrix
DeUnna Hendrix is an American women's basketball former coach and former basketball player. She previously served as the women's basketball head coach at Miami University. Prior to that, she served as the women's basketball head coach at High Point University. Early life and education Hendrix is from Kokomo, Indiana. She attended the University of Richmond where she played college basketball. Hendrix was twice named team captain and played in the 2005 NCAA tournament and 2006 WNIT Semi-Finals. The 2008 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament involved 64 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the 2007–08 national champion of women's NCAA Division I college basketball. It commenced on March 22, 2008, and concluded when the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers defeated the Stanford University Cardinal 64–48 on April 8, 2008, at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.
