Missouri State High School Activities Association
The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) is the governing body for high school activities throughout the state of Missouri. Approximately 580 high schools are members of MSHSAA. The MSHSAA conducts championship-level activities in 23 activities. At least 50 member high schools must sponsor a sport for an official championship series to be conducted. Sports such as boys volleyball, field hockey, girls lacrosse, boys softball, and water polo are considered "emerging sports" by MSHSAA, but an official postseason series does not exist with less than 50 schools involved in those activities. MSHSAA also administers sideline cheerleading and dance team activities. Frontenac, Missouri
Frontenac is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,612 at the 2020 census. The community name is inspired by the New France governor Louis de Buade de Frontenac. Benjamin and Lora Wood, who laid out the community's core called Frontenac Estates, that consisted of 26 two-acre estates, had made frequent trips to Quebec. The community was incorporated as in 1947 and annexed another in 1948. The community still consists mostly of houses on one-acre lots. French architecture is encouraged in design. Whitfield School
Whitfield School, founded in 1952, is a private, non-sectarian preparatory school with more than 400 students in grades 6–12. The campus is in Creve Coeur, Missouri, United States, a suburb of Saint Louis. History In 1952 John Barnes and Allen Cole purchased Dumford Academy, located on Bartmer Avenue, and renamed it Whitfield School. During spring break of 1957, Barnes and Cole and the school moved into a residential house in Creve Coeur, some of which had been converted into classrooms. The house became the nucleus of the current campus; it now serves as administrative offices as well as a meeting and congregating facility, and has come to be named the "Barnes and Cole Alumni House." The fourth head of school, Mary Leyhe Burke, raised money to build a new building on the land next to the house; this building was completed in the early 1990s. Barat Academy
Barat Academy is an independent college preparatory school, in Chesterfield, Missouri for grades 6–12. It was founded in 2007 in the traditions of the Sacred Heart. It is the first co-educational completely independent Catholic high school in the state of Missouri. Barat Academy is the only private, independent, Catholic high school in St. Louis that offers single gender classes on a co-ed campus. Nerinx Hall High School
Nerinx Hall High School is a private Roman Catholic girls high school in Webster Groves, Missouri, and is part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. History Nerinx Hall began with three pioneer women, Mary Rhodes, Ann Havern and Christina Stuart, who founded the Sisters of Loretto in 1812. The Nerinx Hall name is a tribute to Father Charles Nerinckx's work. As the country moved west, so did the Sisters of Loretto. From frontier Kentucky into the mid- and southwest United States, the Sisters continued their involvement in Catholic education.
