Meowth, known in Japanese as , is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's ''Pokémon'' media franchise, and the first stage of its evolved form, Persian. First introduced in the video games ''Pokémon Red'' and ''Blue'', it has received multiple new forms, including regional variants called Alolan Meowth and Galarian Meowth in ''Pokémon Sun'' and ''Moon'' and ''Pokémon Sword'' and ''Shield'' respectively. These two forms are Dark and Steel as opposed to Meowth's Normal form. ''Sword'' and ''Shield'' also introduced a giant-sized Meowth transformation that causes it to become very long. Ken Sugimori
is a Japanese video game designer, illustrator, mangaka, manga artist, and Video game director (other), director. He is best known as the primary character designer and art director for the ''Pokémon'' franchise. Sugimori is also credited with the art direction for other titles, including ''Pulseman''. Sugimori drew and finalized all of the original 151 Pokémon. He has also worked on the various ''Pokémon'' films, trading cards, and other games like the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series. Maneki-neko
The ''maneki-neko'' (招き猫, ) is a common Japanese figurine which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. In modern times, they are usually made of ceramic or plastic. The figurine depicts a cat, traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail, with a paw raised in a beckoning gesture. The figurines are often displayed in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, dry cleaners, laundromats, bars, casinos, hotels, nightclubs, and other businesses, generally near the entrance, as well as households. Satoshi Tajiri
is a Japanese video game designer and Creative director, director who is the creator of the ''Pokémon'' franchise and the co-founder and president of video game developer Game Freak. A fan of arcade games in his youth, Tajiri wrote for and edited his own video gaming fanzine ''Game Freak'' with Ken Sugimori, before evolving it into a development company of the same name.
