''Men Don't Cry'' () is a 2017 Bosnian drama film directed by Alen Drljević. It was selected as the Bosnian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Jasmila Žbanić (; born 19 December 1974) is a Bosnian film director, screenwriter and producer. She has received numerous accolades, including nominations for the Academy Awards, Academy Award and two British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA Awards. Žbanić has also won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival and has been nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Bosnia and Herzegovina has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1994. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non- English dialogue. Bosnia and Herzegovina has submitted twenty films for consideration and two, Danis Tanović's '' No Man's Land'' and Jasmila Žbanić's ''Quo Vadis, Aida?'', have been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. This is a list of submissions to the 90th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2016 and 30 September 2017.
