Soren Thompson
Soren Hunter Miles S Thompson (born May 5, 1981) is an American épée fencer, team world champion, and two-time Olympian. He represented the United States in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, where he reached the quarterfinals and came in 7th, the best US result in the event since 1956 and at the time the second-best US result of all time. He also represented the US in the 2012 Olympics in London. Thompson won a gold medal and world championship in the team épée event at the 2012 World Fencing Championships. He was inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame in 2018, and the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2020. Early and personal life Thompson was born in San Diego, California, and attended Torrey Pines High School, graduating in 1999. He then attended Princeton University, majoring in Art and Architecture. Weston "Seth" Kelsey (born August 24, 1981) is an American épée fencer and three time Olympic fencer. He competed at three Olympiads: 2004, 2008 and 2012. He finished 4th in the individual competition at the 2012 London Olympics. Career He finished 17th in the individual competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He has competed at the World Fencing Championships since 2003. His best results were seventh at the 2010 World Fencing Championships in Paris, France. He was a member of the American team that won the silver medal in team épée at the 2010 World Championships and a member of the American épée team that won the 2012 World Championships in Kyiv, Ukraine. Cody Mattern (born February 23, 1981) is an American fencer. He competed in the individual and team épée events at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He coached at the Northwest Fencing Center, in Beaverton, Oregon. Fencing He started fencing at Northwest Fencing Center, in 1996. In 1998 and 1999, he won the Junior National Championships. Benjamin Bratton (born June 18, 1985) is a three-time fencing all-American and a former member of the United States fencing team. As a national team member, he competed in the 2006 World Fencing Championships in Turin, Italy; the 2009 World Fencing Championships in Antalya, Turkey; the 2010 World Fencing Championships in Paris; and the 2012 World Fencing Championships in Kyiv. Grumier is a three-time team European champion, 2015 individual European champion, and five-time team world champion. Yannick Borel (born 5 November 1988) is a French right-handed épée fencer. Borel is a two-time team European champion, four-time individual European champion, four-time team world champion, and 2018 individual world champion. A three-time Olympian, Borel is a 2016 team Olympic champion. Borel competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
