Jorge Cabrera Medaglia is an international and national jurist in biodiversity law and legal aspects relating to Access and Benefit Sharing, and a professor in the graduate program in law at the University of Costa Rica. In addition, he is a Legal Adviser to Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad in Costa Rica, a consultant, and Lead Counsel for Biodiversity at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law. Júlio Medaglia (born 1938) is a Brazilian composer, arranger, and conducting, conductor. Born in São Paulo (city), São Paulo, he studied theory and conducting with Hans-Joachim Koellreutter. He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Musikhochschule in Freiburg, Germany, and privately with Pierre Boulez, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Sir John Barbirolli, with whom he worked as assistant conductor. After his return to Brazil in 1966, he established a solid reputation as a conductor, eventually working with all the major orchestras in the country, in addition to launching his career as arranger and composer of music for film and theater. Diamante Medaglia Faini (28 August 1724 – 13 June 1770) was an Italian poet. She was a member of the academies Accademia degli Agiati (1751), Accademia degli Orditi in Padua, under the name Nisea Corcirense, and Accademia dell'Arcadia in Rome (1757). She was known for her love poems, and also composed sonnets and madrigals. She was the daughter of the doctor Antonio Medaglia, and married the doctor Pietro Antonio Faini in 1748. Her father arranged the marriage because he disliked her fame, and the marriage forced her to stop using love as a theme of her poems. She was a controversial poet, and stopped her activity in the academies when they tried to force her to adjust herself to accepted convention. Medaglia d'Oro (foaled April 11, 1999) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won several major stakes races including the 2002 Travers Stakes and the 2003 Whitney Handicap.
