McLaren's Bay
McLaren's Bay is a Dispersed rural community and unincorporated place in geographic Parkman Township in the Unorganized North Part of Nipissing District in Central Ontario, Canada. The community lies on the eponymous McLaren's Bay on the west shore of Lake Timiskaming, at the mouth of Opimika Creek. McLaren's Point is just north of the community. A tertiary road leads from McLaren's Bay southwest to the railway point of Diver, on the Ontario Northland Railway, and—via a subsequent branching tertiary road—south to Ontario Highway 63 King's Highway 63, commonly referred to as Highway 63, is a Ontario Provincial Highway Network, provincially maintained highway in the Canada, Canadian province of Ontario. King's Highway 63, commonly referred to as Highway 63, is a Ontario Provincial Highway Network, provincially maintained highway in the Canada, Canadian province of Ontario. The route travels from Ontario Highway 11, Highway 11 and Ontario Highway 17, Highway 17 (the Trans-Canada Highway) in North Bay, Ontario, North Bay northeast to the Ontario-Quebec provincial boundary, where it continues as Quebec Route 101, Route 101 into Témiscaming, Quebec, Témiscaming. Ontario Northland Railway
The Ontario Northland Railway is a Canadian railway operated by the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, a Crown agency (Ontario), provincial Crown agency of the government of Ontario. Originally built to develop the Lake Timiskaming and Lake Nipissing areas, the railway soon became a major factor in the economic growth of the province. After decades of difficult construction through the Canadian Shield, workers reached James Bay in 1932. Lake Timiskaming or Lake Temiskaming (, ) is a large freshwater lake on the Provinces and territories of Canada, provincial boundary between Ontario and Quebec, Canada. The lake, which forms part of the Ottawa River, is in length and covers an area of . Its water level ranges between and above sea-level, with a mean annual average of .
