The Mayor of Chișinău, officially the General Mayor of the Municipality of Chișinău (), is the head of the executive branch of Chișinău's government and a member of the city's Municipal Council. Ion Ceban
Ion Ceban (born 30 June 1980) is a Moldovan politician and merchant and the current mayor of Chișinău, Moldova's capital. He is also the leader of the pro-European National Alternative Movement party (Mișcarea Alternativa Națională or MAN). Ceban was Vice President of the Parliament of Moldova in 2019 and has served as a member of parliament in three legislatures. From 2015 to 2019, he led his party's faction in the Chișinău Municipal Council. He has held different positions at the governmental level, ranging from department head to Deputy Minister. Gherman Pântea
Gherman Vasile Pântea (; surname also spelled Pîntea; ; ; May 13, 1894 – February 1, 1968) was a Bessarabian-born soldier, civil servant and political figure, active in the Russian Empire and Romania. As an officer of the Imperial Russian Army during most of World War I, he helped organize the committees of Bessarabian soldiers, oscillating between loyalty to the Russian Provisional Government and the cause of Bessarabian emancipation. Pântea was subsequently Military Director of the Moldavian Democratic Republic, answering to President Ion Inculeț. He personally created a Bessarabian defense force, tasked with combating Bolshevik subversion and Russian intimidation, but also braced for defeat after the October Revolution. Vasile Bârcă (2 January 1884 – 14 May 1949) was a Moldovan politician, member of the Moldovan Parliament, mayor of Chișinău and minister during Greater Romania. Teodor Cojocaru
Teodor Cojocaru (; 3 May 1879 – 23 January 1941) was a Moldovan military and politician. He served as Director General for Armed Forces in the Pantelimon Erhan Cabinet, and as a member of the Sfatul Țării and Romanian Parliament, and was the mayor of Chișinău from 1919 until 1920. Vladimir Herța
Vladimir or Wladimir Herța, also known as Hertza or de Hertza (; 14 May 1868 – 3 August 1924), was a Bessarabian-born politician, entrepreneur, jurist, and amateur singer. He was initially active in the Bessarabia Governorate of the Russian Empire, where his family owned large estates that became his main source of revenue. He claimed descent from boyardom, and as such both Romanian ethnicity and inclusion within Russian nobility, but his account was disputed. Alexander Schmidt (politician)
Alexander Carol Schmidt (, ; 1879–1954) was a Bessarabian-born Imperial Russian, Moldavian and, later Soviet, politician, economist, lawyer and academic. He was the last Tsarist mayor of Chișinău, between 1917 and 1918. Biography Alexander Schmidt was born on 1879 in Kishinev, at that time part of the Bessarabia Governorate. A Bessarabian German, he was a son of Carol Schmidt, who was serving as mayor of Kishinev when he was born, and Maria Cristi. The Schmidt family was part of the Russian nobility.
